Mark Burnett is best known for being the producer of very successful television shows such as "Survivor," "The Apprentice" and "The Voice." His wife, Roma Downey, is best known for her role as the angel Monica in "Touched by an Angel." Now they are teaming up to produce a 10-hour miniseries about the Bible. It will feature some of the favorite stories and characters that will address key themes from Scripture.

Burnett has said in an interview, "To us as a family, we love the Bible. This is not a TV show to us. It's images and sound and sacred text that people still will watch way after our grandchildren are old people." He added, "It is our obligation to tell the stories as written. The stories are so brilliant and compelling. If you know the Bible, you'll enjoy seeing the stories come to life. If you've never read the Bible, I think you'll love the stories. There's a reason the Bible is the most widely read book in the world."
