Self-Absorption

A pastor's wife went to an aerobic dance class to lose a little weight, be
herself, and all that. The place was jammed with divorced women who complained
that men are "a bunch of pigs," "indifferent," and
"unfulfilling." And this woman, a pastor's wife, bought into it, and
eventually walked out on her husband. Why? Primarily because she became
completely focused on self.
We can fall into the same trap. We can justify our absorption with self. We can explain it away. We can use any argument we want, but it's destroying marriages and homes. Absorption with self is needlessly diverting people from true meaning and purpose in life.
