Proverbs 15:2-12 (New International Version)

View In My Bible
2 The tongue of the wise commends knowledge,1 but the mouth of the fool gushes folly.2 3 The eyes3 of the LORD are everywhere,4 keeping watch on the wicked and the good.5 4 The tongue6 that brings healing is a tree of life,7 but a deceitful tongue crushes the spirit.8 5 A fool spurns his father's discipline, but whoever heeds correction shows prudence.9 6 The house of the righteous contains great treasure,10 but the income of the wicked brings them trouble.11 7 The lips of the wise spread knowledge;12 not so the hearts of fools. 8 The LORD detests the sacrifice13 of the wicked,14 but the prayer of the upright pleases him.15 9 The LORD detests the way of the wicked16 but he loves those who pursue righteousness.17 10 Stern discipline awaits him who leaves the path; he who hates correction will die.18 11 Death and Destructiona lie open before the LORD 19-- how much more the hearts of men!20 12 A mocker resents correction;21 he will not consult the wise.
