In my distress1 I called to the LORD;2 I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice;3 my cry came4 before him, into his ears.

The earth trembled5 and quaked,6 and the foundations of the mountains shook;7 they trembled because he was angry.88
Smoke rose from his nostrils;9 consuming fire10 came from his mouth, burning coals11 blazed out of it.

He parted the heavens and came down;12 dark clouds13 were under his feet.

He mounted the cherubim14 and flew; he soared15 on the wings of the wind.1611
He made darkness his covering,17 his canopy18 around him-- the dark rain clouds of the sky.

Out of the brightness of his presence19 clouds advanced, with hailstones20 and bolts of lightning.2113
The LORD thundered22 from heaven; the voice of the Most High resounded.a14
He shot his arrows23 and scattered [the enemies], great bolts of lightning24 and routed them.2515
The valleys of the sea were exposed and the foundations26 of the earth laid bare at your rebuke,27 O LORD, at the blast of breath from your nostrils.2816
He reached down from on high and took hold of me; he drew me out of deep waters.29
