the righteous will inherit the land1 and dwell in it forever.230
The mouth of the righteous man utters wisdom,3 and his tongue speaks what is just.
The law of his God is in his heart;4 his feet do not slip.532
The wicked lie in wait6 for the righteous,7 seeking their very lives;
but the LORD will not leave them in their power or let them be condemned8 when brought to trial.934
Wait for the LORD10 and keep his way.11 He will exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are cut off,12 you will see13 it.
I have seen a wicked and ruthless man flourishing14 like a green tree in its native soil,
but he soon passed away and was no more; though I looked for him, he could not be found.1537
Consider the blameless,16 observe the upright;17 there is a futurea for the man of peace.1838
But all sinners19 will be destroyed;20 the futureb of the wicked will be cut off.2139
The salvation22 of the righteous comes from the LORD; he is their stronghold in time of trouble.23
