13 e arse la casa dell’Eterno e la casa del re, diede alle fiamme tutte le case di Gerusalemme, e arse tutte le case ragguardevoli.

Jeremiah 52:13

And burnt the house of the Lord
The temple built by Solomon, after it had stood four hundred and seventy years, six months, and ten days, according to Josephus ^F26: but the Jews say it stood but four hundred ten years ^F1: and the king's house;
the royal palace; probably that which was built by Solomon, ( 1 Kings 7:1 ) ; and all the houses of Jerusalem:
of any note or strength: and all the houses of the great [men] burnt he with fire;
of the princes and nobles in Jerusalem; it is in the singular number, "and every house of the great one"; or "every great house" ^F2; Jarchi interprets it of the synagogue, where prayer was magnified; and others, he says, understood it of the schools, where the law was magnified.

11 Poi fece cavar gli occhi a Sedekia; e il re di Babilonia lo fece incatenare con una doppia catena di rame e lo menò a Babilonia, e lo mise in prigione, dove rimase fino al giorno della sua morte.

12 Or il decimo giorno del quinto mese era il diciannovesimo anno di Nebucadnetsar, re di Babilonia Nebuzaradan, capitano della guardia del corpo, al servizio del re di Babilonia, giunse a Gerusalemme,

13 e arse la casa dell’Eterno e la casa del re, diede alle fiamme tutte le case di Gerusalemme, e arse tutte le case ragguardevoli.

14 E tutto l’esercito dei Caldei ch’era col capitano della guardia atterrò da tutte le parti le mura di Gerusalemme.

15 Nebuzaradan, capitano della guardia, menò in cattività una parte de’ più poveri del popolo, i superstiti ch’erano rimasti nella città, i fuggiaschi che s’erano arresi al re di Babilonia, e il resto della popolazione.
