But if Christ is in you,1 your body is dead because of sin, yet your spirit is alive because of righteousness.
11
And if the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead2 is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies3 through his Spirit, who lives in you.

Therefore, brothers, we have an obligation--but it is not to the sinful nature, to live according to it.4
13
For if you live according to the sinful nature, you will die;5 but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body,6 you will live,7
14
because those who are led by the Spirit of God8 are sons of God.9
15
For you did not receive a spirit10 that makes you a slave again to fear,11 but you received the Spirit of sonship.a And by him we cry, ""Abba,"b Father."12
16
The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit13 that we are God's children.14
17
Now if we are children, then we are heirs15--heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings16 in order that we may also share in his glory.17
Future Glory
18 I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.18Scripture quoted by permission.
