thata the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay1 and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.222
We know that the whole creation has been groaning3 as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.
Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit,4 groan5 inwardly as we wait eagerly6 for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.724
For in this hope we were saved.8 But hope that is seen is no hope at all.9 Who hopes for what he already has?
But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.1026
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit11 himself intercedes for us12 with groans that words cannot express.
And he who searches our hearts13 knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes14 for the saints in accordance with God's will.
And we know that in all things God works for the good15 of those who love him,b whoc have been called16 according to his purpose.1729
For those God foreknew18 he also predestined19 to be conformed to the likeness of his Son,20 that he might be the firstborn21 among many brothers.
And those he predestined,22 he also called;23 those he called, he also justified;24 those he justified, he also glorified.2531
What, then, shall we say in response to this?26 If God is for us,27 who can be against us?28
