Psalms 34:10 Meaning and Commentary

Psalms 34:10

The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger
According to Apollinarius,

``the needy rich, whom famine presses;''

see ( Job 4:10 Job 4:11 ) ;

but they that seek the Lord;
by prayer, diligently, with their whole heart, and in the sincerity of their souls; the Targum is, "that seek the doctrine of the Lord"; that seek instruction from him, and to be taught by him: these

shall not want any good [thing]:
which God has purposed to bestow upon them, which he has promised unto them, and provided for them; nor any thing that shall be for their good.

Psalms 34:10 In-Context

8 O taste and see that the LORD is good! Happy is the man who takes refuge in him!
9 O fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him have no want!
10 The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing.
11 Come, O sons, listen to me, I will teach you the fear of the LORD.
12 What man is there who desires life, and covets many days, that he may enjoy good?
