'1You shall inherit the land by lot according to your families; to the larger you shall givemoreinheritance, and to the smaller you shall givelessinheritance. Wherever** the lotfalls to anyone, that shall be his. You shall inherit according to the tribes of your fathers.
And ye shall divide the land by lot What is said in this verse is the same with ( Numbers 26:53-56 ) , where it has been explained; (See Gill on Numbers 26:53), (See Gill on Numbers 26:54), (See Gill on Numbers 26:55), (See Gill on Numbers 26:56).

then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, and destroy all their figured stones, and destroy all their molten images and demolish all their high places;

and you shall take possession of the land and live in it, for I have given the land to you to possess it.
