2 Samuel 11:24

And the shooters shot from off of the wall upon thy
servants
Arrows out of their bows, or stones out of their engines; the Israelites following them so closely to the gate of the city, came within the reach of their shot from the wall:

and [some] of the king's servants be dead;
killed in the sally upon them, and by the shot from the wall:

and thy servant Uriah the Hittite is dead also;
the messenger did not entirely obey the orders of Joab to wait and observe if the king's wrath arose, but was in haste to tell him the last piece of news; perhaps he had some suspicion, from the manner of Joab's telling him what he should say, that this would be acceptable to the king.

22 Y fue el mensajero, y llegando, contó a David todas las cosas a que Joab le había enviado.

23 Y dijo el mensajero a David: Prevalecieron contra nosotros los varones, que salieron a nosotros al campo, bien que nosotros les hicimos retroceder hasta la entrada de la puerta.

24 Y los flecheros tiraron contra tus siervos desde el muro, y murieron algunos de los siervos del rey; y murió también tu siervo Urías heteo.

25 Y David dijo al mensajero: Dirás así a Joab: No tengas pesar de esto, que de igual y semejante manera suele consumir el cuchillo; esfuerza la batalla contra la ciudad, hasta que la derribes. Y tú aliéntale.

26 Y oyendo la mujer de Urías que su marido Urías era muerto, hizo luto por su marido.
