Awake, awake,1 Zion, clothe yourself with strength!2 Put on your garments of splendor,3 Jerusalem, the holy city.4 The uncircumcised5 and defiled6 will not enter you again.72
Shake off your dust;8 rise up,9 sit enthroned, Jerusalem. Free yourself from the chains on your neck,10 Daughter Zion,11 now a captive.
For this is what the LORD says: "You were sold for nothing,12 and without money13 you will be redeemed.14"
For this is what the Sovereign LORD says: "At first my people went down to Egypt15 to live; lately, Assyria16 has oppressed them.
"And now what do I have here?" declares the LORD. "For my people have been taken away for nothing, and those who rule them mock,a " declares the LORD. "And all day long my name is constantly blasphemed.176
Therefore my people will know18 my name;19 therefore in that day20 they will know that it is I who foretold21 it. Yes, it is I."
