You, however, must teach what is appropriate to sound doctrine.1
Teach the older men2 to be temperate,3 worthy of respect, self-controlled,4 and sound in faith,5 in love and in endurance.
Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers6 or addicted to much wine,7 but to teach what is good.
Then they can urge the younger women8 to love their husbands and children,
to be self-controlled9 and pure, to be busy at home,10 to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands,11 so that no one will malign the word of God.12
Similarly, encourage the young men13 to be self-controlled.14
