Luke 4:39

39 et stans super illam imperavit febri et dimisit illam et continuo surgens ministrabat illis

Luke 4:39 Meaning and Commentary

Luke 4:39

And he stood over her
"At her head", as the Persic version reads: he inclined himself towards her, to see how she did, and to take her by the hand, and lift her up;

and rebuked the fever.
The Syriac and Persic versions read, "her fever", that which was upon her;

and it left her,
as Mark says, "immediately"; as soon as ever he had touched her hand, and rebuked the fever, and bid it be gone:

and immediately she arose, and ministered unto them;
(See Gill on Matthew 8:15).
