Now when
1they heard this they were cut to the heart, and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, "Brothers,
2what shall we do?"

And Peter said to them,
3"Repent and
4be baptized every one of you
5in the name of Jesus Christ
6for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive
7the gift of the Holy Spirit.
39
For
8the promise is for you and
9for your children and for all
10who are far off, everyone
11whom the Lord our God calls to himself."
40
And with many other words he bore witness and continued to exhort them, saying,
12"Save yourselves from this
13crooked generation."
41
So those who received his word were baptized, and
14there were added that day about three thousand souls.
The Fellowship of the Believers
42 And
15they devoted themselves to the apostles'
16teaching and the
17fellowship, to
18the breaking of bread and the prayers.
43
And awe came upon every soul, and
19many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles.
44
And all who believed were together and
20had all things in common.
45
And
21they were selling their possessions and belongings and distributing the proceeds to all, as any had need.
46
And day by day,
22attending the temple
23together and
24breaking bread in their homes, they received their food
25with glad and generous hearts,
47
praising God and
26having favor with all the people. And the Lord
27added to their number
28day by day those who
29were being saved.
