Sohetookhim, and brought him to the chief captain,andsaid , Paul the prisonercalledme unto him, and prayed me to bringthis young man untothee, who hathsomething to say unto thee.

Then the chief captaintookhim by the hand,and went with him asideprivately*, and asked him, Whatisthat thou hast to tellme?

And he said* , The Jews have agreed to desiretheethat thou wouldest bring downPaul to morrowinto the council,as though they wouldenquiresomewhatofhim more perfectly.

Butdonotthouyield unto them:for there lie in wait forhimofthem more thanfortymen,which have boundthemselves with an oath , that they willneithereatnordrinktillthey have killedhim:andnow are theyready, looking for a promisefromthee.

Sothe chief captain then let the young mandepart , and charged him, See thou tell no manthat thou hast shewed these thingstome.

And he called untohimtwocenturions,saying , Make ready two hundredsoldierstogotoCaesarea,andhorsemen threescore and ten,andspearmen two hundred,at the thirdhour of the night;

Andprovide them beasts,that they may setPaulon , and bring him safeuntoFelix the governor.
