AndSaul,yet breathing outthreateningsandslaughteragainst the disciples of the Lord,went unto the high priest,

And desiredofhimletterstoDamascusto the synagogues,thatif he foundany of this way,whether they weremenorwomen, he might bring thembound untoJerusalem.

And as hejourneyed* , he camenearDamascus:andsuddenly there shined round abouthim a lightfromheaven:

And he fellto the earth, and heard a voicesaying unto him,Saul,Saul,why persecutest thoume?

And he said , Who art thou , Lord?And the Lordsaid , IamJesuswhomthoupersecutest : it is hard for thee to kickagainst the pricks.

And he tremblingandastonishedsaid , Lord,what wilt thou haveme to do ? And the Lord said untohim,Arise , andgointo the city,and it shall be toldtheewhatthoumustdo .

And the menwhichjourneyed with himstoodspeechless,hearing* a voice,butseeing no man.

AndSaularosefrom the earth;and when hiseyes were opened , he saw no man:but they ledhim by the hand , and brought him intoDamascus.

And he wasthreedayswithoutsight , andneither did eatnordrink .

And there was a certaindiscipleatDamascus,namedAnanias;andtohimsaid the Lordin a vision,Ananias.And he said , Behold , I am here, Lord.

And the Lord said untohim,Arise , and gointo the streetwhich is calledStraight,andenquirein the house of Judas for one calledSaul, of Tarsus:for,behold , he prayeth ,

And hath seenin a vision a mannamedAnanias coming in , andputting his handonhim,that he might receive his sight .

ThenAnaniasanswered , Lord, I have heardbymanyofthisman, how muchevil he hath done to thysaintsatJerusalem:
14
Andhere he hathauthorityfrom the chief priests to bindall that call on thyname.

But the Lordsaiduntohim,Go thy way : forheis a chosenvessel unto me, to bearmynamebefore the Gentiles,andkings,and the children of Israel:

ForI will shewhim how great thingshemustsufferformy name's sake*.

AndAnanias went his way , andenteredinto the house;andputting his handsonhimsaid , BrotherSaul, the Lord, even Jesus, that appeared unto theein the wayas thou camest , hath sentme,that thou mightest receive thy sight , and be filled with the HolyGhost.

Andimmediately there fellfromhiseyesas it had been scales: and he received sightforthwith,andarose , and was baptized .

And when he had receivedmeat, he was strengthened . ThenwasSaulcertaindayswith the disciples which were atDamascus.

Andstraightway he preachedChristin the synagogues,thatheis the Son of God.

Butall that heard him were amazed , andsaid ; Isnotthis he that destroyed them which called onthisnameinJerusalem,andcamehitherforthatintent,that he might bringthemboundunto the chief priests?

ButSaulincreased the more in strength , andconfounded the JewswhichdweltatDamascus,provingthatthisis very Christ.

Andafter that manydays were fulfilled , the Jews took counsel to killhim:

Buttheir laying await was known of Saul.And they watched the gatesdayandnighttokillhim.

Then the disciplestookhim by night, and let him down*by the wallin a basket.

And when Saul was cometoJerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples:but they wereallafraid of him, and believednotthat he was a disciple.

ButBarnabastookhim, and brought him to the apostles,anddeclared unto themhow he had seen the Lordin the way,andthat he had spoken to him,andhow he had preached boldlyatDamascusin the name of Jesus.

And he waswiththem coming inand going outatJerusalem.

And he spakeboldlyin the name of the LordJesus,and*disputedagainst the Grecians:but they went about to slayhim.

Which when the brethrenknew , they broughthimdowntoCaesarea,andsenthimforthtoTarsus.

Then*had the churchesrestthroughoutallJudaeaandGalileeandSamaria, and were edified ; and walking in the fear of the Lord,and in the comfort of the HolyGhost, were multiplied .
