"Thereforetakeheed, so that the thingspoken of 7in the Prophets may not come upon you:

'8BEHOLD, YOU SCOFFERS, AND MARVEL, AND PERISH; FOR I AM ACCOMPLISHING A WORK IN YOUR DAYS, A WORKWHICH YOU WILL NEVER*BELIEVE, THOUGHSOMEONE SHOULD DESCRIBE IT TO YOU.' "

As Paul and Barnabas were going out, the people kept begging that thesethings might be spoken to them the next9Sabbath.

Now when the meeting of the synagogue had broken up, many of the Jews and of the 10God-fearing11proselytesfollowedPaul and Barnabas, who, speaking to them, were urging them to continue in 12the grace of God.
Paul Turns to the Gentiles
44 The next13Sabbathnearly the wholecityassembled to hear the word of the Lord.

But when 14the Jewssaw the crowds, they were filled with jealousy and began contradicting the thingsspoken by Paul, and were blaspheming.

Paul and Barnabasspoke out boldly and said, "It was necessary that the word of God be spoken to you 15first; since you repudiate it and judgeyourselvesunworthy* of eternallife, behold, 16we are turning to the Gentiles.
