and suddenly1there came a greatearthquake, so that the foundations of the prisonhouse were shaken; and immediately2all the doors were opened and everyone's3chains were unfastened.

When 4the jailerawoke and saw the prisondoorsopened, he drew his sword and was about5to killhimself, supposing that the prisoners had escaped.

But Paulcried out with a loudvoice, saying, "Do not harmyourself, for we are allhere!"

And he called for lights and rushed in, and trembling with fear he felldownbefore6Paul and Silas,
30
and after he brought them out, he said, "Sirs, 7whatmust I do to be saved?"
The Jailer Converted
31 They said, "8Believe in the LordJesus, and you will be saved, you and 9your household."

And they spoke the word of the Lord to him together with allwho were in his house.
33
And he took them 10that very hour of the night and washed their wounds, and immediately he was baptized, he and all his household.
34
And he brought them into his house and setfoodbefore them, and rejoicedgreatly, having believed in God with 11his wholehousehold.
35
Now when daycame, the chiefmagistratessent their policemen, saying, "Releasethosemen."
36
And 12the jailerreportedthesewords to Paul, saying, "The chiefmagistrates have sent to release you. Thereforecome out now and go13in peace."
