For in Him all the 4fullness of Deity dwells in bodily form,
and in Him you have been 5made complete, and 6He is the head over all 7rule and authority;
and in Him 8you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, in the removal of 9the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ;
having been 10buried with Him in baptism, in which you were also 11raised up with Him through faith in the working of God, who 12raised Him from the dead.
When you were 13dead in your transgressions and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He 14made you alive together with Him, having forgiven us all our transgressions,
having canceled out 15the certificate of debt consisting of decrees against us, which was hostile to us; and 16He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross.
When He had 17disarmed the 18rulers and authorities, He 19made a public display of them, having 20triumphed over them through Him.
Therefore no one is to 21act as your judge in regard to 22food or 23drink or in respect to a 24festival or a 25new moon or a 26Sabbath day-
things which are 27a mere shadow of what is to come; but the substance belongs to Christ.
Let no one keep 28defrauding you of your prize by 29delighting in self-abasement and the worship of the angels, taking his stand on visions he has seen, 30inflated without cause by his 31fleshly mind,
and not holding fast to 32the head, from whom 33the entire body, being supplied and held together by the joints and ligaments, grows with a growth which is from God.
34If you have died with Christ to the 35elementary principles of the world, 36why, as if you were living in the world, do you submit yourself to 37decrees, such as,
"Do not handle, do not taste, do not touch!"
(which all refer 38to things destined to perish with use )-in accordance with the 39commandments and teachings of men?
