23When the days of his priestly service were ended, he went back home.24After these days Elizabeth his wife became pregnant, and she kept herself in seclusion for five months, saying,25"This is the way the Lord has dealt with me in the days when He looked with favor upon me, to take away my disgrace among men."
21And when eight days had passed, before His circumcision, His name was then called Jesus, the name given by the angel before He was conceived in the womb.22And when the days for their purification according to the law of Moses were completed, they brought Him up to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord
36And there was a prophetess, Anna the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher. She was advanced in years and had lived with her husband seven years after her marriage,37and then as a widow to the age of eighty-four . She never left the temple, serving night and day with fastings and prayers.
43and as they were returning, after spending the full number of days, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem. But His parents were unaware of it,44but supposed Him to be in the caravan, and went a day's journey; and they began looking for Him among their relatives and acquaintances.
17One day He was teaching; and there were some Pharisees and teachers of the law sitting there, who had come from every village of Galilee and Judea and from Jerusalem; and the power of the Lord was present for Him to perform healing.
12It was at this time that He went off to the mountain to pray, and He spent the whole night in prayer to God.13And when day came, He called His disciples to Him and chose twelve of them, whom He also named as apostles:
12Now the day was ending, and the twelve came and said to Him, "Send the crowd away, that they may go into the surrounding villages and countryside and find lodging and get something to eat; for here we are in a desolate place."
22saying, "The Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed and be raised up on the third day."23And He was saying to them all, "If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow Me.
36And when the voice had spoken, Jesus was found alone. And they kept silent, and reported to no one in those days any of the things which they had seen.37On the next day, when they came down from the mountain, a large crowd met Him.
14But the synagogue official, indignant because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath, began saying to the crowd in response, "There are six days in which work should be done; so come during them and get healed, and not on the Sabbath day."
26"And just as it happened in the days of Noah, so it will be also in the days of the Son of Man:27they were eating, they were drinking, they were marrying, they were being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and the flood came and destroyed them all.28"It was the same as happened in the days of Lot: they were eating, they were drinking, they were buying, they were selling, they were planting, they were building;29but on the day that Lot went out from Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven and destroyed them all.30"It will be just the same on the day that the Son of Man is revealed.31"On that day, the one who is on the housetop and whose goods are in the house must not go down to take them out; and likewise the one who is in the field must not turn back .
42saying, "If you had known in this day, even you, the things which make for peace! But now they have been hidden from your eyes.43"For the days will come upon you when your enemies will throw up a barricade against you, and surround you and hem you in on every side,
22because these are days of vengeance, so that all things which are written will be fulfilled.23"Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days; for there will be great distress upon the land and wrath to this people;
