1 Y acerca de las cosas espirituales, no quiero, hermanos, que <I>los</I> ignoréis.

Now about the gifts of the Spirit, brothers and sisters, I do not want you to be uninformed.
2 Sabéis que cuando erais gentiles, ibais, como erais llevados, a los ídolos mudos.

You know that when you were pagans, somehow or other you were influenced and led astray to mute idols.
3 Por tanto os hago saber, que nadie que hable por el Espíritu de Dios, llama anatema a Jesús; y nadie puede llamar a Jesús Señor, sino por <I>el</I> Espíritu Santo.

Therefore I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.
4 Pero hay repartimiento de dones; mas el mismo Espíritu <I>es</I> .

There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit distributes them.
5 Y hay repartimiento de ministerios; mas el mismo Señor <I>es</I> .

There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord.
6 Y hay repartimiento de operaciones; mas el mismo Dios es, quien obra todas las cosas en todos.

There are different kinds of working, but in all of them and in everyone it is the same God at work.
7 Pero a cada uno le es dada <I>la</I> manifestación del Espíritu para provecho.

Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good.
8 Porque a la verdad, a éste es dada por el Espíritu palabra de sabiduría; a otro, palabra de ciencia según el mismo Espíritu;

To one there is given through the Spirit a message of wisdom, to another a message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,
9 a otro, fe por el mismo Espíritu, y a otro, dones de sanidades por el mismo Espíritu;

to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit,
10 a otro, operaciones de milagros, y a otro, profecía; y a otro, discernimiento de espíritus; y a otro, géneros de lenguas; y a otro, interpretación de lenguas.

to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues.
11 Mas todas estas cosas opera uno y el mismo Espíritu, repartiendo particularmente a cada uno como quiere.

All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.
12 Porque de la manera que es un cuerpo, y tiene muchos miembros, empero todos los miembros de <I>este</I> cuerpo, siendo muchos, son un cuerpo, así también el Cristo.

Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.
13 Porque por un Espíritu somos todos bautizados en un cuerpo, judíos o griegos, siervos o libres; y todos bebemos (de una bebida) de un mismo Espíritu.

For we were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink.
14 Porque el cuerpo no es un miembro, sino muchos.

Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many.
15 Si dijere el pie: Porque no soy mano, no soy del cuerpo, ¿por eso no será del cuerpo?

Now if the foot should say, “Because I am not a hand, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body.
16 Y si dijere la oreja: Porque no soy ojo, no soy del cuerpo, ¿por eso no será del cuerpo?

And if the ear should say, “Because I am not an eye, I do not belong to the body,” it would not for that reason stop being part of the body.
17 Si todo el cuerpo <I>fuese</I> ojo, ¿dónde <I>estaría</I> el oído? Si todo <I>fuese</I> oído, ¿dónde <I>estaría</I> el olfato?

If the whole body were an eye, where would the sense of hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would the sense of smell be?
18 Mas ahora Dios ha colocado los miembros cada uno de ellos por sí en el cuerpo, como quiso.

But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be.
19 Que si todos fueran un miembro, ¿dónde <I>estuviera</I> el cuerpo?

If they were all one part, where would the body be?
20 Mas ahora muchos miembros son a la verdad, empero un cuerpo.

As it is, there are many parts, but one body.
21 Ni el ojo puede decir a la mano: No te necesito; ni asimismo la cabeza a los pies: No tengo necesidad de vosotros.

The eye cannot say to the hand, “I don’t need you!” And the head cannot say to the feet, “I don’t need you!”
22 Antes, los miembros del cuerpo que parecen más flacos, son mucho más necesarios;

On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable,
23 y los <I>miembros</I> del cuerpo que estimamos ser más viles, a éstos vestimos más honrosamente; y los que en nosotros son indecentes, tienen más honestidad.

and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty,
24 Porque los que en nosotros son más honestos, no tienen necesidad de nada; mas Dios ordenó el cuerpo (todo), dando más abundante honor al que le faltaba;

while our presentable parts need no special treatment. But God has put the body together, giving greater honor to the parts that lacked it,
25 para que no haya desavenencia en el cuerpo, sino que los miembros todos se interesen los unos por los otros.

so that there should be no division in the body, but that its parts should have equal concern for each other.
26 De tal manera que si un miembro padece, todos los miembros a una se duelan; y si un miembro es honrado, todos los miembros a una se gozan.

If one part suffers, every part suffers with it; if one part is honored, every part rejoices with it.
27 Y vosotros sois el cuerpo de Cristo, y miembros <I>cada uno</I> en particular.

Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.
28 Y a unos puso Dios en la Iglesia, primeramente apóstoles, luego profetas, lo tercero maestros; luego facultades; luego dones de sanidades; ayudas, gobernaciones, géneros de lenguas.

And God has placed in the church first of all apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, of helping, of guidance, and of different kinds of tongues.
29 ¿Son todos apóstoles? ¿Son todos profetas? ¿Todos maestros? ¿Todos facultades?

Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Do all work miracles?
30 ¿Tienen todos dones de sanidad? ¿Hablan todos lenguas? ¿Interpretan todos?

Do all have gifts of healing? Do all speak in tongues ? Do all interpret?
31 Procurad pues, los mejores dones; mas aun yo os enseño el camino más excelente.

Now eagerly desire the greater gifts. And yet I will show you the most excellent way.
