5 Tu sais ce que m'a fait Joab, fils de Tseruja, ce qu'il a fait à deux chefs de l'armée d'Israël, à Abner, fils de Ner, et à Amasa, fils de Jéther. Il les a tués; il a versé pendant la paix le sang de la guerre, et il a mis le sang de la guerre sur la ceinture qu'il avait aux reins et sur la chaussure qu'il avait aux pieds.

“Now you yourself know what Joab son of Zeruiah did to me—what he did to the two commanders of Israel’s armies, Abner son of Ner and Amasa son of Jether. He killed them, shedding their blood in peacetime as if in battle, and with that blood he stained the belt around his waist and the sandals on his feet.
