20 Y haciendo allegar Samuel todas las tribus de Israel, fue tomada la tribu de Benjamín.

When Samuel had all Israel come forward by tribes, the tribe of Benjamin was taken by lot.
21 E hizo llegar la tribu de Benjamín por sus linajes, y fue tomada la familia de Matri; y <I>de ella</I> fue tomado Saúl hijo de Cis. Y cuando le buscaron, no fue hallado.

Then he brought forward the tribe of Benjamin, clan by clan, and Matri’s clan was taken. Finally Saul son of Kish was taken. But when they looked for him, he was not to be found.
22 Preguntaron, <I>pues</I> , otra vez al SEÑOR, si había aún de venir allí aquel varón. Y respondió el SEÑOR: He aquí que él <I>está</I> escondido entre el bagaje.

So they inquired further of the LORD, “Has the man come here yet?” And the LORD said, “Yes, he has hidden himself among the supplies.”
23 Entonces corrieron, y lo tomaron de allí, y puesto en medio del pueblo, desde el hombro arriba era más alto que todo el pueblo.

They ran and brought him out, and as he stood among the people he was a head taller than any of the others.
24 Y Samuel dijo a todo el pueblo: ¿Habéis visto al que ha elegido el SEÑOR, que no hay semejante a él en todo el pueblo? Entonces el pueblo clamó diciendo: ¡Viva el rey!

Samuel said to all the people, “Do you see the man the LORD has chosen? There is no one like him among all the people.” Then the people shouted, “Long live the king!”
25 Samuel recitó luego al pueblo el derecho del reino, y lo escribió en un libro, el cual guardó delante del SEÑOR.

Samuel explained to the people the rights and duties of kingship. He wrote them down on a scroll and deposited it before the LORD. Then Samuel dismissed the people to go to their own homes.
26 Y envió Samuel a todo el pueblo cada uno a su casa. Y Saúl también se fue a su casa en Gabaa, y fueron con él <I>algunos del</I> ejército, el corazón de los cuales Dios había tocado.

Saul also went to his home in Gibeah, accompanied by valiant men whose hearts God had touched.
27 Pero los hijos de Belial dijeron: ¿Cómo nos ha de salvar éste? Y le tuvieron en poco, y no le trajeron presente; mas él disimuló.

But some scoundrels said, “How can this fellow save us?” They despised him and brought him no gifts. But Saul kept silent.
