1 Dàwèi dào le Nuóbǎi jìsī yà xī mǐ lè nàli , yà xī mǐ lè zhàn zhàn jīng jīng dì chūlai yíngjiē tā , wèn tā shuō , nǐ wèishénme dúzì lái , méiyǒu rén gēnsuí ne .

David went to Nob, to Ahimelek the priest. Ahimelek trembled when he met him, and asked, “Why are you alone? Why is no one with you?”
2 Dàwèi huídá jìsī yà xī mǐ lè shuō , wáng fēnfu wǒ yī jiàn shì shuō , wǒ chāiqiǎn nǐ wĕi tuō nǐde zhè jiàn shì , búyào shǐ rén zhīdào . gùcǐ wǒ yǐ paì déng shàonián rén zaì mǒu chù dĕnghòu wǒ .

David answered Ahimelek the priest, “The king sent me on a mission and said to me, ‘No one is to know anything about the mission I am sending you on.’ As for my men, I have told them to meet me at a certain place.
3 Xiànzaì nǐ shǒu xià yǒu shénme . qiú nǐ gĕi wǒ wǔ gè bǐng huò shì bié yàng de shíwù .

Now then, what do you have on hand? Give me five loaves of bread, or whatever you can find.”
4 Jìsī duì Dàwèi shuō , wǒ shǒu xià méiyǒu xún cháng de bǐng , zhǐyǒu shèng bǐng . ruò shàonián rén méiyǒu qīnjìn fùrén cái kĕyǐ gĕi .

But the priest answered David, “I don’t have any ordinary bread on hand; however, there is some consecrated bread here—provided the men have kept themselves from women.”
5 Dàwèi duì jìsī shuō , shízaì yuē you sān rì wǒmen méiyǒu qīnjìn fùrén . wǒ chūlai de shíhou , suī shì xún cháng xíng lù , shàonián rén de qìmǐn háishì jiéjìng de . hékuàng jīnrì bú gèng shì jiéjìng ma .

David replied, “Indeed women have been kept from us, as usual whenever I set out. The men’s bodies are holy even on missions that are not holy. How much more so today!”
6 Jìsī jiù ná shèng bǐng gĕi tā . yīnwei zaì nàli méiyǒu bié yàng bǐng , zhǐyǒu gēnghuàn xīn bǐng , cóng Yēhéhuá miànqián chè xià lái de chénshèbǐng .

So the priest gave him the consecrated bread, since there was no bread there except the bread of the Presence that had been removed from before the LORD and replaced by hot bread on the day it was taken away.
7 Dāng rì yǒu Sǎoluó de yī gè chén zǐ liú zaì Yēhéhuá miànqián . tā míng jiào duō yì , shì Yǐdōng rén , zuò Sǎoluó de sī mù zhǎng .

Now one of Saul’s servants was there that day, detained before the LORD; he was Doeg the Edomite, Saul’s chief shepherd.
8 Dàwèi wèn yà xī mǐ lè shuō , nǐ shǒu xià yǒu qiāng yǒu dāo méiyǒu . yīnwei wáng de shì shén jí , lián dāo jiàn qìxiè wǒ dōu méiyǒu daì .

David asked Ahimelek, “Don’t you have a spear or a sword here? I haven’t brought my sword or any other weapon, because the king’s mission was urgent.”
9 Jìsī shuō , nǐ zaì Yǐlā gǔ shā Fēilìshì rén gē Lìyà de nà dāo zaì zhèlǐ , guǒ zaì bù zhōng , fàng zaì Yǐfúdé hòubiān , nǐ yào jiù kĕyǐ ná qù . chú cǐ yǐwaì , zaì méiyǒu biéde . Dàwèi shuō , zhè dāo méiyǒu kĕ bǐ de . qiú nǐ gĕi wǒ .

The priest replied, “The sword of Goliath the Philistine, whom you killed in the Valley of Elah, is here; it is wrapped in a cloth behind the ephod. If you want it, take it; there is no sword here but that one.” David said, “There is none like it; give it to me.”
10 Nà rì Dàwèi qǐlai , duǒbì Sǎoluó , taó dào Jiātè wáng yà jí nàli .

That day David fled from Saul and went to Achish king of Gath.
11 Yà jí de chénpú duì yà jí shuō , zhè bú shì Yǐsèliè guówáng Dàwèi ma . nàli de fùnǚ tiàowǔ chàng hé , bú shì zhǐ zhe tā shuō Sǎoluó shā sǐ qiā qiā , Dàwèi shā sǐ wàn wàn ma .

But the servants of Achish said to him, “Isn’t this David, the king of the land? Isn’t he the one they sing about in their dances: “ ‘Saul has slain his thousands, and David his tens of thousands’?”
12 Dàwèi jiāng zhè huà fàng zaì xīnli , shén jùpà Jiātè wáng yà jí ,

David took these words to heart and was very much afraid of Achish king of Gath.
13 Jiù zaì zhòngrén miànqián gǎibiàn le xún cháng de jǔ dòng , zaì tāmen shǒu xià jiǎ zhuāng fēng diān , zaì chéng mén de mén shān shàng hú xiĕ luàn huà , shǐ tuòmo liú zaì hú zǐ shàng .

So he pretended to be insane in their presence; and while he was in their hands he acted like a madman, making marks on the doors of the gate and letting saliva run down his beard.
14 Yà jí duì chénpú shuō , nǐmen kàn , zhè rén shì fēng zǐ . wèishénme daì tā dào wǒ zhèlǐ lái ne .

Achish said to his servants, “Look at the man! He is insane! Why bring him to me?
15 Wǒ qǐ quē shǎo fēng zǐ , nǐmen daì zhè rén lái zaì wǒ miànqián fēng diān ma . zhè rén qǐ kĕ jìn wǒde jiā ne .

Am I so short of madmen that you have to bring this fellow here to carry on like this in front of me? Must this man come into my house?”
