1 Timothy 1:12-17

CEB 12 I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength because he considered me faithful. So he appointed me to ministry NRS 12 I am grateful to Christ Jesus our Lord, who has strengthened me, because he judged me faithful and appointed me to his service, CEB 13 even though I used to speak against him, attack his people, and I was proud. But I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and without faith. NRS 13 even though I was formerly a blasphemer, a persecutor, and a man of violence. But I received mercy because I had acted ignorantly in unbelief, CEB 14 Our Lord's favor poured all over me along with the faithfulness and love that are in Christ Jesus. NRS 14 and the grace of our Lord overflowed for me with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus. CEB 15 This saying is reliable and deserves full acceptance: "Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners"—and I'm the biggest sinner of all. NRS 15 The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the foremost. CEB 16 But this is why I was shown mercy, so that Christ Jesus could show his endless patience to me first of all. So I'm an example for those who are going to believe in him for eternal life. NRS 16 But for that very reason I received mercy, so that in me, as the foremost, Jesus Christ might display the utmost patience, making me an example to those who would come to believe in him for eternal life. CEB 17 Now to the king of the ages, to the immortal, invisible, and only God, may honor and glory be given to him forever and always! Amen. NRS 17 To the King of the ages, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory forever and ever. Amen.
