1 Corinthians 15:19-26

CEB 19 If we have a hope in Christ only in this life, then we deserve to be pitied more than anyone else. NRS 19 If for this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are of all people most to be pitied. CEB 20 But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead. He's the first crop of the harvest of those who have died. NRS 20 But in fact Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have died. CEB 21 Since death came through a human being, the resurrection of the dead came through one too. NRS 21 For since death came through a human being, the resurrection of the dead has also come through a human being; CEB 22 In the same way that everyone dies in Adam, so also everyone will be given life in Christ. NRS 22 for as all die in Adam, so all will be made alive in Christ. CEB 23 Each event will happen in the right order: Christ, the first crop of the harvest, then those who belong to Christ at his coming, NRS 23 But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, then at his coming those who belong to Christ. CEB 24 and then the end, when Christ hands over the kingdom to God the Father, when he brings every form of rule, every authority and power to an end. NRS 24 Then comes the end, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father, after he has destroyed every ruler and every authority and power. CEB 25 It is necessary for him to rule until he puts all enemies under his feet. NRS 25 For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. CEB 26 Death is the last enemy to be brought to an end, NRS 26 The last enemy to be destroyed is death.
