1 Samuel 2:1-6

RSVA 1 Hannah also prayed and said, "My heart exults in the LORD; my strength is exalted in the LORD. My mouth derides my enemies, because I rejoice in thy salvation. NIV 1 Then Hannah prayed and said: “My heart rejoices in the LORD; in the LORD my horn is lifted high. My mouth boasts over my enemies, for I delight in your deliverance. RSVA 2 "There is none holy like the LORD, there is none besides thee; there is no rock like our God. NIV 2 “There is no one holy like the LORD; there is no one besides you; there is no Rock like our God. RSVA 3 Talk no more so very proudly, let not arrogance come from your mouth; for the LORD is a God of knowledge, and by him actions are weighed. NIV 3 “Do not keep talking so proudly or let your mouth speak such arrogance, for the LORD is a God who knows, and by him deeds are weighed. RSVA 4 The bows of the mighty are broken, but the feeble gird on strength. NIV 4 “The bows of the warriors are broken, but those who stumbled are armed with strength. RSVA 5 Those who were full have hired themselves out for bread, but those who were hungry have ceased to hunger. The barren has borne seven, but she who has many children is forlorn. NIV 5 Those who were full hire themselves out for food, but those who were hungry are hungry no more. She who was barren has borne seven children, but she who has had many sons pines away. RSVA 6 The LORD kills and brings to life; he brings down to Sheol and raises up. NIV 6 “The LORD brings death and makes alive; he brings down to the grave and raises up.
