7 Mais l'Eternel ne voulut point détruire la maison de David, à cause de l'alliance qu'il avait traitée avec David et de la promesse qu'il avait faite de lui donner toujours une lampe, à lui et à ses fils.

Nevertheless, because of the covenant the LORD had made with David, the LORD was not willing to destroy the house of David. He had promised to maintain a lamp for him and his descendants forever.
