2 Corinthians 6

NIV 1 As God’s co-workers we urge you not to receive God’s grace in vain. NRS 1 As we work together with him, we urge you also not to accept the grace of God in vain. NIV 2 For he says, “In the time of my favor I heard you, and in the day of salvation I helped you.”I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation. NRS 2 For he says, "At an acceptable time I have listened to you, and on a day of salvation I have helped you." See, now is the acceptable time; see, now is the day of salvation! NIV 3 We put no stumbling block in anyone’s path, so that our ministry will not be discredited. NRS 3 We are putting no obstacle in anyone's way, so that no fault may be found with our ministry, NIV 4 Rather, as servants of God we commend ourselves in every way: in great endurance; in troubles, hardships and distresses; NRS 4 but as servants of God we have commended ourselves in every way: through great endurance, in afflictions, hardships, calamities, NIV 5 in beatings, imprisonments and riots; in hard work, sleepless nights and hunger; NRS 5 beatings, imprisonments, riots, labors, sleepless nights, hunger; NIV 6 in purity, understanding, patience and kindness; in the Holy Spirit and in sincere love; NRS 6 by purity, knowledge, patience, kindness, holiness of spirit, genuine love, NIV 7 in truthful speech and in the power of God; with weapons of righteousness in the right hand and in the left; NRS 7 truthful speech, and the power of God; with the weapons of righteousness for the right hand and for the left; NIV 8 through glory and dishonor, bad report and good report; genuine, yet regarded as impostors; NRS 8 in honor and dishonor, in ill repute and good repute. We are treated as impostors, and yet are true; NIV 9 known, yet regarded as unknown; dying, and yet we live on; beaten, and yet not killed; NRS 9 as unknown, and yet are well known; as dying, and see—we are alive; as punished, and yet not killed; NIV 10 sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; poor, yet making many rich; having nothing, and yet possessing everything. NRS 10 as sorrowful, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing everything. NIV 11 We have spoken freely to you, Corinthians, and opened wide our hearts to you. NRS 11 We have spoken frankly to you Corinthians; our heart is wide open to you. NIV 12 We are not withholding our affection from you, but you are withholding yours from us. NRS 12 There is no restriction in our affections, but only in yours. NIV 13 As a fair exchange—I speak as to my children—open wide your hearts also. NRS 13 In return—I speak as to children—open wide your hearts also. NIV 14 Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness? NRS 14 Do not be mismatched with unbelievers. For what partnership is there between righteousness and lawlessness? Or what fellowship is there between light and darkness? NIV 15 What harmony is there between Christ and Belial ? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever? NRS 15 What agreement does Christ have with Beliar? Or what does a believer share with an unbeliever? NIV 16 What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said: “I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.” NRS 16 What agreement has the temple of God with idols? For we are the temple of the living God; as God said, "I will live in them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. NIV 17 Therefore, “Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” NRS 17 Therefore come out from them, and be separate from them, says the Lord, and touch nothing unclean; then I will welcome you, NIV 18 And, “I will be a Father to you, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty.” NRS 18 and I will be your father, and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty."
