CEB 6 So we are always confident, because we know that while we are living in the body, we are away from our home with the Lord. NRS 6 So we are always confident; even though we know that while we are at home in the body we are away from the Lord— CEB 7 We live by faith and not by sight. NRS 7 for we walk by faith, not by sight. CEB 8 We are confident, and we would prefer to leave the body and to be at home with the Lord. NRS 8 Yes, we do have confidence, and we would rather be away from the body and at home with the Lord. CEB 9 So our goal is to be acceptable to him, whether we are at home or away from home. NRS 9 So whether we are at home or away, we make it our aim to please him. CEB 10 We all must appear before Christ in court so that each person can be paid back for the things that were done while in the body, whether they were good or bad. NRS 10 For all of us must appear before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each may receive recompense for what has been done in the body, whether good or evil. CEB 11 So we try to persuade people, since we know what it means to fear the Lord. We are well known by God, and I hope that in your heart we are well known by you as well. NRS 11 Therefore, knowing the fear of the Lord, we try to persuade others; but we ourselves are well known to God, and I hope that we are also well known to your consciences. CEB 12 We aren't trying to commend ourselves to you again. Instead, we are giving you an opportunity to be proud of us so that you could answer those who take pride in superficial appearance, and not in what is in the heart. NRS 12 We are not commending ourselves to you again, but giving you an opportunity to boast about us, so that you may be able to answer those who boast in outward appearance and not in the heart. CEB 13 If we are crazy, it's for God's sake. If we are rational, it's for your sake. NRS 13 For if we are beside ourselves, it is for God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you. CEB 14 The love of Christ controls us, because we have concluded this: one died for the sake of all; therefore, all died. NRS 14 For the love of Christ urges us on, because we are convinced that one has died for all; therefore all have died. CEB 15 He died for the sake of all so that those who are alive should live not for themselves but for the one who died for them and was raised. NRS 15 And he died for all, so that those who live might live no longer for themselves, but for him who died and was raised for them. CEB 16 So then, from this point on we won't recognize people by human standards. Even though we used to know Christ by human standards, that isn't how we know him now. NRS 16 From now on, therefore, we regard no one from a human point of view; even though we once knew Christ from a human point of view, we know him no longer in that way. CEB 17 So then, if anyone is in Christ, that person is part of the new creation. The old things have gone away, and look, new things have arrived! NRS 17 So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new!
