2 Peter 3:8-15

CEB 8 Don't let it escape your notice, dear friends, that with the Lord a single day is like a thousand years and a thousand years are like a single day. NRS 8 But do not ignore this one fact, beloved, that with the Lord one day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like one day. CEB 9 The Lord isn't slow to keep his promise, as some think of slowness, but he is patient toward you, not wanting anyone to perish but all to change their hearts and lives. NRS 9 The Lord is not slow about his promise, as some think of slowness, but is patient with you, not wanting any to perish, but all to come to repentance. CEB 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. NRS 10 But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, and then the heavens will pass away with a loud noise, and the elements will be dissolved with fire, and the earth and everything that is done on it will be disclosed. NRS 12 waiting for and hastening the coming of the day of God, because of which the heavens will be set ablaze and dissolved, and the elements will melt with fire? CEB 13 But according to his promise we are waiting for a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness is at home. NRS 13 But, in accordance with his promise, we wait for new heavens and a new earth, where righteousness is at home. CEB 14 Therefore, dear friends, while you are waiting for these things to happen, make every effort to be found by him in peace—pure and faultless. NRS 14 Therefore, beloved, while you are waiting for these things, strive to be found by him at peace, without spot or blemish; CEB 15 Consider the patience of our Lord to be salvation, just as our dear friend and brother Paul wrote to you according to the wisdom given to him, NRS 15 and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation. So also our beloved brother Paul wrote to you according to the wisdom given him,
