VULA 1 Paulus apostolus Christi Iesu per voluntatem Dei sanctis omnibus qui sunt Ephesi et fidelibus in Christo Iesu NIV 1 Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, To God’s holy people in Ephesus, the faithful in Christ Jesus: VULA 2 gratia vobis et pax a Deo Patre nostro et Domino Iesu Christo NIV 2 Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. VULA 3 benedictus Deus et Pater Domini nostri Iesu Christi qui benedixit nos in omni benedictione spiritali in caelestibus in Christo NIV 3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ. VULA 4 sicut elegit nos in ipso ante mundi constitutionem ut essemus sancti et inmaculati in conspectu eius in caritate NIV 4 For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love VULA 5 qui praedestinavit nos in adoptionem filiorum per Iesum Christum in ipsum secundum propositum voluntatis suae NIV 5 he predestined us for adoption to sonship through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will— VULA 6 in laudem gloriae gratiae suae in qua gratificavit nos in dilecto NIV 6 to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves. VULA 7 in quo habemus redemptionem per sanguinem eius remissionem peccatorum secundum divitias gratiae eius NIV 7 In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God’s grace VULA 8 quae superabundavit in nobis in omni sapientia et prudentia NIV 8 that he lavished on us. VULA 13 in quo et vos cum audissetis verbum veritatis evangelium salutis vestrae in quo et credentes signati estis Spiritu promissionis Sancto NIV 13 And you also were included in Christ when you heard the message of truth, the gospel of your salvation. When you believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, VULA 14 qui est pignus hereditatis nostrae in redemptionem adquisitionis in laudem gloriae ipsius NIV 14 who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession—to the praise of his glory. VULA 18 inluminatos oculos cordis vestri ut sciatis quae sit spes vocationis eius quae divitiae gloriae hereditatis eius in sanctis NIV 18 I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, VULA 19 et quae sit supereminens magnitudo virtutis eius in nos qui credidimus secundum operationem potentiae virtutis eius NIV 19 and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is the same as the mighty strength VULA 20 quam operatus est in Christo suscitans illum a mortuis et constituens ad dexteram suam in caelestibus NIV 20 he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms, VULA 21 supra omnem principatum et potestatem et virtutem et dominationem et omne nomen quod nominatur non solum in hoc saeculo sed et in futuro NIV 21 far above all rule and authority, power and dominion, and every name that is invoked, not only in the present age but also in the one to come. VULA 22 et omnia subiecit sub pedibus eius et ipsum dedit caput supra omnia ecclesiae NIV 22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be head over everything for the church, VULA 23 quae est corpus ipsius plenitudo eius qui omnia in omnibus adimpletur NIV 23 which is his body, the fullness of him who fills everything in every way.
