1 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
1 Then the LORD said to Moses,
2 Behold, I have called by name Beseleel the son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Juda,
2 “See, I have chosen Bezalel son of Uri, the son of Hur, of the tribe of Judah,
3 And I have filled him with the spirit of God, with wisdom and understanding, and knowledge in all manner of work,
3 and I have filled him with the Spirit of God, with wisdom, with understanding, with knowledge and with all kinds of skills—
4 To devise whatsoever may be artificially made of gold, and silver, and brass,
4 to make artistic designs for work in gold, silver and bronze,
5 Of marble, and precious stones, and variety of wood.
5 to cut and set stones, to work in wood, and to engage in all kinds of crafts.
6 And I have given him for his companion Ooliab, the son of Achisamech, of the tribe of Dan. And I have put wisdom in the heart of every skilful man, that they may make all things which I have commanded thee,
6 Moreover, I have appointed Oholiab son of Ahisamak, of the tribe of Dan, to help him. Also I have given ability to all the skilled workers to make everything I have commanded you:
7 The tabernacle of the covenant, and the ark of the testimony, and the propitiatory, that is over it, and all the vessels of the tabernacle,
7 the tent of meeting, the ark of the covenant law with the atonement cover on it, and all the other furnishings of the tent—
8 And the table and the vessels thereof, the most pure candlestick with the vessels thereof, and the altars of incense,
8 the table and its articles, the pure gold lampstand and all its accessories, the altar of incense,
9 And of holocaust, and all their vessels, the laver with its foot,
9 the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, the basin with its stand—
10 The holy vestments in the ministry for Aaron the priest, and for his sons, that they may execute their office, about the sacred things:
10 and also the woven garments, both the sacred garments for Aaron the priest and the garments for his sons when they serve as priests,
11 The oil of unction, and the incense of spices in the sanctuary, all things which I have commanded thee, shall they make.
11 and the anointing oil and fragrant incense for the Holy Place. They are to make them just as I commanded you.”
12 And the Lord spoke to Moses, saying:
12 Then the LORD said to Moses,
13 Speak to the children of Israel, and thou shalt say to them: See that you keep my sabbath; because it is a sign between me and you in your generations that you may know that I am the Lord, who sanctify you.
13 “Say to the Israelites, ‘You must observe my Sabbaths. This will be a sign between me and you for the generations to come, so you may know that I am the LORD, who makes you holy.
14 keep you my sabbath: for it is holy unto you: he that shall profane it, shall be put to death: he that shall do any work in it, his soul shall perish out of the midst of his people.
14 “ ‘Observe the Sabbath, because it is holy to you. Anyone who desecrates it is to be put to death; those who do any work on that day must be cut off from their people.
15 Six days shall you do work: in the seventh day is the sabbath, the rest holy to the Lord. Every one that shall do any work on this day, shall die.
15 For six days work is to be done, but the seventh day is a day of sabbath rest, holy to the LORD. Whoever does any work on the Sabbath day is to be put to death.
16 Let the children of Israel keep the sabbath, and celebrate it in their generations. It is an everlasting covenant
16 The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant.
17 Between me and the children of Israel, and a perpetual sign. For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, and in the seventh he ceased from work.
17 It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he rested and was refreshed.’ ”
18 And the Lord, when he had ended these words in Mount Sinai, gave to Moses two stone tables of testimony, written with the finger of God.
18 When the LORD finished speaking to Moses on Mount Sinai, he gave him the two tablets of the covenant law, the tablets of stone inscribed by the finger of God.
