Exodus 40

YLT 1 And Jehovah speaketh unto Moses, saying, NIV 1 Then the LORD said to Moses: YLT 2 `On the first day of the month, in the first month, thou dost raise up the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, NIV 2 “Set up the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, on the first day of the first month. YLT 3 and hast set there the ark of the testimony, and hast covered over the ark with the vail, NIV 3 Place the ark of the covenant law in it and shield the ark with the curtain. YLT 4 and hast brought in the table, and set its arrangement in order, and hast brought in the candlestick, and caused its lamps to go up. NIV 4 Bring in the table and set out what belongs on it. Then bring in the lampstand and set up its lamps. YLT 5 `And thou hast put the golden altar for perfume before the ark of the testimony, and hast put the covering of the opening to the tabernacle, NIV 5 Place the gold altar of incense in front of the ark of the covenant law and put the curtain at the entrance to the tabernacle. YLT 6 and hast put the altar of the burnt-offering before the opening of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, NIV 6 “Place the altar of burnt offering in front of the entrance to the tabernacle, the tent of meeting; YLT 7 and hast put the laver between the tent of meeting and the altar, and hast put water there. NIV 7 place the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water in it. YLT 8 `And thou hast set the court round about, and hast placed the covering of the gate of the court, NIV 8 Set up the courtyard around it and put the curtain at the entrance to the courtyard. YLT 9 and hast taken the anointing oil, and anointed the tabernacle, and all that [is] in it, and hallowed it, and all its vessels, and it hath been holy; NIV 9 “Take the anointing oil and anoint the tabernacle and everything in it; consecrate it and all its furnishings, and it will be holy. YLT 10 and thou hast anointed the altar of the burnt-offering, and all its vessels, and sanctified the altar, and the altar hath been most holy; NIV 10 Then anoint the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils; consecrate the altar, and it will be most holy. YLT 11 and thou hast anointed the laver and its base, and sanctified it. NIV 11 Anoint the basin and its stand and consecrate them. YLT 12 `And thou hast brought near Aaron and his sons unto the opening of the tent of meeting, and hast bathed them with water; NIV 12 “Bring Aaron and his sons to the entrance to the tent of meeting and wash them with water. YLT 13 and thou hast clothed Aaron with the holy garments, and anointed him, and sanctified him, and he hath acted as priest to Me. NIV 13 Then dress Aaron in the sacred garments, anoint him and consecrate him so he may serve me as priest. YLT 14 `And his sons thou dost bring near, and hast clothed them with coats, NIV 14 Bring his sons and dress them in tunics. YLT 15 and anointed them as thou hast anointed their father, and they have acted as priests to Me, and their anointing hath been to be to them for a priesthood age-during, to their generations.' NIV 15 Anoint them just as you anointed their father, so they may serve me as priests. Their anointing will be to a priesthood that will continue throughout their generations.” YLT 16 And Moses doth according to all that Jehovah hath commanded him; so he hath done. NIV 16 Moses did everything just as the LORD commanded him. YLT 17 And it cometh to pass, in the first month, in the second year, in the first of the month, the tabernacle hath been raised up; NIV 17 So the tabernacle was set up on the first day of the first month in the second year. YLT 18 and Moses raiseth up the tabernacle, and setteth its sockets, and placeth its boards, and placeth its bars, and raiseth its pillars, NIV 18 When Moses set up the tabernacle, he put the bases in place, erected the frames, inserted the crossbars and set up the posts. YLT 19 and spreadeth the tent over the tabernacle, and putteth the covering of the tent upon it above, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses. NIV 19 Then he spread the tent over the tabernacle and put the covering over the tent, as the LORD commanded him. YLT 20 And he taketh and putteth the testimony unto the ark, and setteth the staves on the ark, and putteth the mercy-seat on the ark above; NIV 20 He took the tablets of the covenant law and placed them in the ark, attached the poles to the ark and put the atonement cover over it. YLT 21 and bringeth in the ark unto the tabernacle, and placeth the vail of the covering, and covereth over the ark of the testimony, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses. NIV 21 Then he brought the ark into the tabernacle and hung the shielding curtain and shielded the ark of the covenant law, as the LORD commanded him. YLT 22 And he putteth the table in the tent of meeting, on the side of the tabernacle northward, at the outside of the vail, NIV 22 Moses placed the table in the tent of meeting on the north side of the tabernacle outside the curtain YLT 23 and setteth in order upon it the arrangement of bread, before Jehovah, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses. NIV 23 and set out the bread on it before the LORD, as the LORD commanded him. YLT 24 And he putteth the candlestick in the tent of meeting, over-against the table, on the side of the tabernacle southward, NIV 24 He placed the lampstand in the tent of meeting opposite the table on the south side of the tabernacle YLT 25 and causeth the lamps to go up before Jehovah, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses. NIV 25 and set up the lamps before the LORD, as the LORD commanded him. YLT 26 And he setteth the golden altar in the tent of meeting, before the vail, NIV 26 Moses placed the gold altar in the tent of meeting in front of the curtain YLT 27 and maketh perfume on it -- spice-perfume -- as Jehovah hath commanded Moses. NIV 27 and burned fragrant incense on it, as the LORD commanded him. YLT 28 And he setteth the covering of the opening to the tabernacle, NIV 28 Then he put up the curtain at the entrance to the tabernacle. YLT 29 and the altar of the burnt-offering he hath set at the opening of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, and causeth the burnt-offering to go up upon it, and the present, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses. NIV 29 He set the altar of burnt offering near the entrance to the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, and offered on it burnt offerings and grain offerings, as the LORD commanded him. YLT 30 And he putteth the laver between the tent of meeting and the altar, and putteth water there for washing, NIV 30 He placed the basin between the tent of meeting and the altar and put water in it for washing, YLT 31 and Moses and Aaron and his sons have washed their hands and their feet at the same; NIV 31 and Moses and Aaron and his sons used it to wash their hands and feet. YLT 32 in their going in unto the tent of meeting, and in their drawing near unto the altar, they wash, as Jehovah hath commanded Moses. NIV 32 They washed whenever they entered the tent of meeting or approached the altar, as the LORD commanded Moses. YLT 33 And he raiseth up the court round about the tabernacle, and about the altar, and placeth the covering of the gate of the court; and Moses completeth the work. NIV 33 Then Moses set up the courtyard around the tabernacle and altar and put up the curtain at the entrance to the courtyard. And so Moses finished the work. YLT 34 And the cloud covereth the tent of meeting, and the honour of Jehovah hath filled the tabernacle; NIV 34 Then the cloud covered the tent of meeting, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. YLT 35 and Moses hath not been able to go in unto the tent of meeting, for the cloud hath tabernacled on it, and the honour of Jehovah hath filled the tabernacle. NIV 35 Moses could not enter the tent of meeting because the cloud had settled on it, and the glory of the LORD filled the tabernacle. YLT 36 And in the going up of the cloud from off the tabernacle the sons of Israel journey in all their journeys; NIV 36 In all the travels of the Israelites, whenever the cloud lifted from above the tabernacle, they would set out; YLT 37 and if the cloud go not up then they journey not, until the day of its going up: NIV 37 but if the cloud did not lift, they did not set out—until the day it lifted. YLT 38 for the cloud of Jehovah [is] on the tabernacle by day, and fire is in it by night, before the eyes of all the house of Israel in all their journeys. NIV 38 So the cloud of the LORD was over the tabernacle by day, and fire was in the cloud by night, in the sight of all the Israelites during all their travels.
