Hebrews 13

KJV 1 Let brotherly love continue. ESV 1 Let brotherly love continue. KJV 2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. ESV 2 Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares. KJV 3 Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body. ESV 3 Remember those who are in prison, as though in prison with them, and those who are mistreated, since you also are in the body. KJV 4 Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge. ESV 4 Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous. KJV 5 Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. ESV 5 Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." KJV 6 So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. ESV 6 So we can confidently say, "The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?" KJV 7 Remember them which have the rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of God: whose faith follow, considering the end of their conversation. ESV 7 Remember your leaders, those who spoke to you the word of God. Consider the outcome of their way of life, and imitate their faith. KJV 8 Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever. ESV 8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever. KJV 9 Be not carried about with divers and strange doctrines. For it is a good thing that the heart be established with grace; not with meats, which have not profited them that have been occupied therein. ESV 9 Do not be led away by diverse and strange teachings, for it is good for the heart to be strengthened by grace, not by foods, which have not benefited those devoted to them. KJV 10 We have an altar, whereof they have no right to eat which serve the tabernacle. ESV 10 We have an altar from which those who serve the tent have no right to eat. KJV 11 For the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the sanctuary by the high priest for sin, are burned without the camp. ESV 11 For the bodies of those animals whose blood is brought into the holy places by the high priest as a sacrifice for sin are burned outside the camp. KJV 12 Wherefore Jesus also, that he might sanctify the people with his own blood, suffered without the gate. ESV 12 So Jesus also suffered outside the gate in order to sanctify the people through his own blood. KJV 13 Let us go forth therefore unto him without the camp, bearing his reproach. ESV 13 Therefore let us go to him outside the camp and bear the reproach he endured. KJV 14 For here have we no continuing city, but we seek one to come. ESV 14 For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come. KJV 15 By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name. ESV 15 Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name. KJV 16 But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. ESV 16 Do not neglect to do good and to share what you have, for such sacrifices are pleasing to God. KJV 17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you. ESV 17 Obey your leaders and submit to them, for they are keeping watch over your souls, as those who will have to give an account. Let them do this with joy and not with groaning, for that would be of no advantage to you. KJV 18 Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly. ESV 18 Pray for us, for we are sure that we have a clear conscience, desiring to act honorably in all things. KJV 19 But I beseech you the rather to do this, that I may be restored to you the sooner. ESV 19 I urge you the more earnestly to do this in order that I may be restored to you the sooner. KJV 20 Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, ESV 20 Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, KJV 21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. ESV 21 equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen. ESV 22 I appeal to you, brothers, bear with my word of exhortation, for I have written to you briefly. KJV 23 Know ye that our brother Timothy is set at liberty; with whom, if he come shortly, I will see you. ESV 23 You should know that our brother Timothy has been released, with whom I shall see you if he comes soon. KJV 24 Salute all them that have the rule over you, and all the saints.
