Mark 4:35-41

NIV 35 That day when evening came, he said to his disciples, “Let us go over to the other side.” NRS 35 On that day, when evening had come, he said to them, "Let us go across to the other side." NIV 36 Leaving the crowd behind, they took him along, just as he was, in the boat. There were also other boats with him. NRS 36 And leaving the crowd behind, they took him with them in the boat, just as he was. Other boats were with him. NIV 37 A furious squall came up, and the waves broke over the boat, so that it was nearly swamped. NRS 37 A great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat, so that the boat was already being swamped. NIV 38 Jesus was in the stern, sleeping on a cushion. The disciples woke him and said to him, “Teacher, don’t you care if we drown?” NRS 38 But he was in the stern, asleep on the cushion; and they woke him up and said to him, "Teacher, do you not care that we are perishing?" NIV 39 He got up, rebuked the wind and said to the waves, “Quiet! Be still!” Then the wind died down and it was completely calm. NRS 39 He woke up and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, "Peace! Be still!" Then the wind ceased, and there was a dead calm. NIV 40 He said to his disciples, “Why are you so afraid? Do you still have no faith?” NRS 40 He said to them, "Why are you afraid? Have you still no faith?" NIV 41 They were terrified and asked each other, “Who is this? Even the wind and the waves obey him!” NRS 41 And they were filled with great awe and said to one another, "Who then is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?"
