1 Jesús sana a un paralítico<br />Jesús subió a una barca y regresó al otro lado del lago, a su propia ciudad.

Jesus stepped into a boat, crossed over and came to his own town.
2 Unos hombres le llevaron a un paralítico en una camilla. Al ver la fe de ellos, Jesús le dijo al paralítico:

Some men brought to him a paralyzed man, lying on a mat. When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, “Take heart, son; your sins are forgiven.”
3 Entonces algunos de los maestros de la ley religiosa decían en su interior: «¡Es una blasfemia! ¿Acaso se cree que es Dios?».

At this, some of the teachers of the law said to themselves, “This fellow is blaspheming!”
4 Jesús sabía<br /> lo que ellos estaban pensando, así que les preguntó:

Knowing their thoughts, Jesus said, “Why do you entertain evil thoughts in your hearts?
5 ¿Qué es más fácil decir: “Tus pecados son perdonados” o “Ponte de pie y camina”?

Which is easier: to say, ‘Your sins are forgiven,’ or to say, ‘Get up and walk’?
6 Entonces Jesús miró al paralítico y dijo:

But I want you to know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins.” So he said to the paralyzed man, “Get up, take your mat and go home.”
7 ¡El hombre se levantó de un salto y se fue a su casa!

Then the man got up and went home.
8 Al ver esto, el temor se apoderó de la multitud; y alababan a Dios por enviar a un hombre con tanta autoridad.

When the crowd saw this, they were filled with awe; and they praised God, who had given such authority to man.
9 Jesús llama a Mateo<br />Mientras caminaba, Jesús vio a un hombre llamado Mateo sentado en su cabina de cobrador de impuestos. <br />le dijo Jesús. Entonces Mateo se levantó y lo siguió.

As Jesus went on from there, he saw a man named Matthew sitting at the tax collector’s booth. “Follow me,” he told him, and Matthew got up and followed him.
10 Más tarde, Mateo invitó a Jesús y a sus discípulos a una cena en su casa, junto con muchos cobradores de impuestos y otros pecadores de mala fama.

While Jesus was having dinner at Matthew’s house, many tax collectors and sinners came and ate with him and his disciples.
11 Cuando los fariseos vieron esto, preguntaron a los discípulos: «¿Por qué su maestro come con semejante escoria?<br />».

When the Pharisees saw this, they asked his disciples, “Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?”
12 Cuando Jesús los oyó, les dijo:

On hearing this, Jesus said, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick.
13 Luego añadió:

But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners.”
14 Discusión acerca del ayuno<br />Un día los discípulos de Juan el Bautista se acercaron a Jesús y le preguntaron:<br />—¿Por qué tus discípulos no ayunan,<br /> como lo hacemos nosotros y los fariseos?

Then John’s disciples came and asked him, “How is it that we and the Pharisees fast often, but your disciples do not fast?”
15 Jesús respondió:

Jesus answered, “How can the guests of the bridegroom mourn while he is with them? The time will come when the bridegroom will be taken from them; then they will fast.
16 »Además, ¿a quién se le ocurriría remendar una prenda vieja con tela nueva? Pues el remiendo nuevo encogería y se desprendería de la tela vieja, lo cual dejaría una rotura aún mayor que la anterior.

“No one sews a patch of unshrunk cloth on an old garment, for the patch will pull away from the garment, making the tear worse.
17 »Y nadie pone vino nuevo en cueros viejos. Pues los cueros viejos se reventarían por la presión y el vino se derramaría, y los cueros quedarían arruinados. El vino nuevo se guarda en cueros nuevos para preservar a ambos.

Neither do people pour new wine into old wineskins. If they do, the skins will burst; the wine will run out and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins, and both are preserved.”
18 Jesús sana en respuesta a la fe<br />Mientras Jesús decía esas cosas, el líder de una sinagoga se le acercó y se arrodilló delante de él. «Mi hija acaba de morir —le dijo—, pero tú puedes traerla nuevamente a la vida solo con venir y poner tu mano sobre ella».

While he was saying this, a synagogue leader came and knelt before him and said, “My daughter has just died. But come and put your hand on her, and she will live.”
19 Entonces Jesús y sus discípulos se levantaron y fueron con él.

Jesus got up and went with him, and so did his disciples.
20 Justo en ese momento, una mujer quien hacía doce años que sufría de una hemorragia continua se le acercó por detrás. Tocó el fleco de la túnica de Jesús

Just then a woman who had been subject to bleeding for twelve years came up behind him and touched the edge of his cloak.
21 porque pensó: «Si tan solo toco su túnica, quedaré sana».

She said to herself, “If I only touch his cloak, I will be healed.”
22 Jesús se dio vuelta, y cuando la vio le dijo:<br /> Y la mujer quedó sana en ese instante.

Jesus turned and saw her. “Take heart, daughter,” he said, “your faith has healed you.” And the woman was healed at that moment.
23 Cuando Jesús llegó a la casa del oficial, vio a una ruidosa multitud y escuchó la música del funeral.

When Jesus entered the synagogue leader’s house and saw the noisy crowd and people playing pipes,
24 —les dijo—. <br /> pero la gente se rió de él.

he said, “Go away. The girl is not dead but asleep.” But they laughed at him.
25 Sin embargo, una vez que hicieron salir a todos, Jesús entró y tomó la mano de la niña, ¡y ella se puso de pie!

After the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took the girl by the hand, and she got up.
26 La noticia de este milagro corrió por toda la región.

News of this spread through all that region.
27 Jesús sana a unos ciegos<br />Cuando Jesús salió de la casa de la niña, lo siguieron dos hombres ciegos, quienes gritaban: «¡Hijo de David, ten compasión de nosotros!».

As Jesus went on from there, two blind men followed him, calling out, “Have mercy on us, Son of David!”
28 Entraron directamente a la casa donde Jesús se hospedaba, y él les preguntó:<br />—Sí, Señor —le dijeron—, lo creemos.

When he had gone indoors, the blind men came to him, and he asked them, “Do you believe that I am able to do this?”“Yes, Lord,” they replied.
29 Entonces él les tocó los ojos y dijo:

Then he touched their eyes and said, “According to your faith let it be done to you”;
30 Entonces sus ojos se abrieron, ¡y pudieron ver! Jesús les advirtió severamente:

and their sight was restored. Jesus warned them sternly, “See that no one knows about this.”
31 pero ellos, en cambio, salieron e hicieron correr su fama por toda la región.

But they went out and spread the news about him all over that region.
32 Cuando se fueron, un hombre que no podía hablar, poseído por un demonio, fue llevado a Jesús.

While they were going out, a man who was demon-possessed and could not talk was brought to Jesus.
33 Entonces Jesús expulsó al demonio y después el hombre comenzó a hablar. Las multitudes quedaron asombradas. «¡Jamás sucedió algo así en Israel!», exclamaron.

And when the demon was driven out, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowd was amazed and said, “Nothing like this has ever been seen in Israel.”
34 Sin embargo, los fariseos dijeron: «Puede expulsar demonios porque el príncipe de los demonios le da poder».

But the Pharisees said, “It is by the prince of demons that he drives out demons.”
35 La necesidad de obreros<br />Jesús recorrió todas las ciudades y aldeas de esa región, enseñando en las sinagogas y anunciando la Buena Noticia acerca del reino; y sanaba toda clase de enfermedades y dolencias.

Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.
36 Cuando vio a las multitudes, les tuvo compasión, porque estaban confundidas y desamparadas, como ovejas sin pastor.

When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.
37 A sus discípulos les dijo:

Then he said to his disciples, “The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.
38 Así que oren al Señor que está a cargo de la cosecha; pídanle que envíe más obreros a sus campos».

Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.”
