1 (12-2) Ephraim se apacienta del viento, y sigue al solano: mentira y destrucción aumenta continuamente; porque hicieron alianza con los Asirios, y aceite se lleva á Egipto.
1 Ephraim feeds on the wind; he pursues the east wind all day and multiplies lies and violence. He makes a treaty with Assyria and sends olive oil to Egypt.
2 (12-3) Pleito tiene Jehová con Judá para visitar á Jacob conforme á sus caminos: pagarále conforme á sus obras.
2 The LORD has a charge to bring against Judah; he will punish Jacob according to his ways and repay him according to his deeds.
3 (12-4) En el vientre tomó por el calcañar á su hermano, y con su fortaleza venció al ángel.
3 In the womb he grasped his brother’s heel; as a man he struggled with God.
4 (12-5) Venció al ángel, y prevaleció; lloró, y rogóle: en Beth-el le halló, y allí habló con nosotros.
4 He struggled with the angel and overcame him; he wept and begged for his favor. He found him at Bethel and talked with him there—
5 (12-6) Mas Jehová es Dios de los ejércitos: Jehová es su memorial.
5 the LORD God Almighty, the LORD is his name!
6 (12-7) Tú pues, conviértete á tu Dios: guarda misericordia y juicio, y en tu Dios espera siempre.
6 But you must return to your God; maintain love and justice, and wait for your God always.
7 (12-8) Es mercader que tiene en su mano peso falso, amador de opresión.
7 The merchant uses dishonest scales and loves to defraud.
8 (12-9) Y dijo Ephraim: Ciertamente yo he enriquecido, hallado he riquezas para mí: nadie hallará en mí iniquidad, ni pecado en todos mis trabajos.
8 Ephraim boasts, “I am very rich; I have become wealthy. With all my wealth they will not find in me any iniquity or sin.”
9 (12-10) Empero yo soy Jehová tu Dios desde la tierra de Egipto: aun te haré morar en tiendas, como en los días de la fiesta.
9 “I have been the LORD your God ever since you came out of Egypt; I will make you live in tents again, as in the days of your appointed festivals.
10 (12-11) Y hablado he á los profetas, y yo aumenté la profecía, y por mano de los profetas puse semejanzas.
10 I spoke to the prophets, gave them many visions and told parables through them.”
11 (12-12) ¿Es Galaad iniquidad? Ciertamente vanidad han sido; en Gilgal sacrificaron bueyes: y aún son sus altares como montones en los surcos del campo.
11 Is Gilead wicked? Its people are worthless! Do they sacrifice bulls in Gilgal? Their altars will be like piles of stones on a plowed field.
12 (12-13) Mas Jacob huyó á tierra de Aram, y sirvió Israel por mujer, y por mujer fué pastor.
12 Jacob fled to the country of Aram ; Israel served to get a wife, and to pay for her he tended sheep.
13 (12-14) Y por profeta hizo subir Jehová á Israel de Egipto, y por profeta fué guardado.
13 The LORD used a prophet to bring Israel up from Egypt, by a prophet he cared for him.
14 (12-15) Enojado ha Ephraim á Dios con amarguras; por tanto, sus sangres se derramarán sobre él, y su Señor le pagará su oprobio.
14 But Ephraim has aroused his bitter anger; his Lord will leave on him the guilt of his bloodshed and will repay him for his contempt.
