Psalm 1

CJB 1 How blessed are those who reject the advice of the wicked, don't stand on the way of sinners or sit where scoffers sit! NIV 1 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, CJB 2 Their delight is in ADONAI's Torah; on his Torah they meditate day and night. NIV 2 but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. CJB 3 They are like trees planted by streams -they bear their fruit in season, their leaves never wither, everything they do succeeds. NIV 3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers. CJB 4 Not so the wicked, who are like chaff driven by the wind. NIV 4 Not so the wicked! They are like chaff that the wind blows away. CJB 5 For this reason the wicked won't stand up to the judgment, nor will sinners at the gathering of the righteous. NIV 5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous. CJB 6 For ADONAI watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked is doomed. NIV 6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.
