Psalm 62

NRSA 1 For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. NIV 1 Truly my soul finds rest in God; my salvation comes from him. NRSA 2 He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall never be shaken. NIV 2 Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will never be shaken. NRSA 3 How long will you assail a person, will you batter your victim, all of you, as you would a leaning wall, a tottering fence? NIV 3 How long will you assault me? Would all of you throw me down— this leaning wall, this tottering fence? NRSA 4 Their only plan is to bring down a person of prominence. They take pleasure in falsehood; they bless with their mouths, but inwardly they curse. (Selah) NIV 4 Surely they intend to topple me from my lofty place; they take delight in lies. With their mouths they bless, but in their hearts they curse. NRSA 5 For God alone my soul waits in silence, for my hope is from him. NIV 5 Yes, my soul, find rest in God; my hope comes from him. NRSA 6 He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be shaken. NIV 6 Truly he is my rock and my salvation; he is my fortress, I will not be shaken. NRSA 7 On God rests my deliverance and my honor; my mighty rock, my refuge is in God. NIV 7 My salvation and my honor depend on God ; he is my mighty rock, my refuge. NRSA 8 Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us. (Selah) NIV 8 Trust in him at all times, you people; pour out your hearts to him, for God is our refuge. NRSA 9 Those of low estate are but a breath, those of high estate are a delusion; in the balances they go up; they are together lighter than a breath. NIV 9 Surely the lowborn are but a breath, the highborn are but a lie. If weighed on a balance, they are nothing; together they are only a breath. NRSA 10 Put no confidence in extortion, and set no vain hopes on robbery; if riches increase, do not set your heart on them. NIV 10 Do not trust in extortion or put vain hope in stolen goods; though your riches increase, do not set your heart on them. NRSA 11 Once God has spoken; twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God, NIV 11 One thing God has spoken, two things I have heard: “Power belongs to you, God, NRSA 12 and steadfast love belongs to you, O Lord. For you repay to all according to their work. NIV 12 and with you, Lord, is unfailing love”; and, “You reward everyone according to what they have done.”
