Psalm 77

CEBA 1 I cry out loud to God— out loud to God so that he can hear me! NIV 1 I cried out to God for help; I cried out to God to hear me. CEBA 2 During the day when I'm in trouble I look for my Lord. At night my hands are still outstretched and don't grow numb; my whole being refuses to be comforted. NIV 2 When I was in distress, I sought the Lord; at night I stretched out untiring hands, and I would not be comforted. CEBA 3 I remember God and I moan. I complain, and my spirit grows tired. Selah NIV 3 I remembered you, God, and I groaned; I meditated, and my spirit grew faint. CEBA 4 You've kept my eyelids from closing. I'm so upset I can't even speak. NIV 4 You kept my eyes from closing; I was too troubled to speak. CEBA 5 I think about days long past; I remember years that seem an eternity in the past. NIV 5 I thought about the former days, the years of long ago; CEBA 6 I meditate with my heart at night; I complain, and my spirit keeps searching: NIV 6 I remembered my songs in the night. My heart meditated and my spirit asked: CEBA 7 "Will my Lord reject me forever? Will he never be pleased again? NIV 7 “Will the Lord reject forever? Will he never show his favor again? CEBA 8 Has his faithful love come to a complete end? Is his promise over for future generations? NIV 8 Has his unfailing love vanished forever? Has his promise failed for all time? CEBA 9 Has God forgotten how to be gracious? Has he angrily stopped up his compassion?" Selah NIV 9 Has God forgotten to be merciful? Has he in anger withheld his compassion?” CEBA 10 It's my misfortune, I thought, that the strong hand of the Most High is different now. NIV 10 Then I thought, “To this I will appeal: the years when the Most High stretched out his right hand. CEBA 11 But I will remember the LORD's deeds; yes, I will remember your wondrous acts from times long past. NIV 11 I will remember the deeds of the LORD; yes, I will remember your miracles of long ago. CEBA 12 I will meditate on all your works; I will ponder your deeds. NIV 12 I will consider all your works and meditate on all your mighty deeds.” CEBA 13 God, your way is holiness! Who is as great a god as you, God? NIV 13 Your ways, God, are holy. What god is as great as our God? CEBA 14 You are the God who works wonders; you have demonstrated your strength among all peoples. NIV 14 You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples. CEBA 15 With your mighty arm you redeemed your people; redeemed the children of Jacob and Joseph. Selah NIV 15 With your mighty arm you redeemed your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph. CEBA 16 The waters saw you, God— the waters saw you and reeled! Even the deep depths shook! NIV 16 The waters saw you, God, the waters saw you and writhed; the very depths were convulsed. CEBA 17 The clouds poured water, the skies cracked thunder; your arrows were flying all around! NIV 17 The clouds poured down water, the heavens resounded with thunder; your arrows flashed back and forth. CEBA 18 The crash of your thunder was in the swirling storm; lightning lit up the whole world; the earth shook and quaked. NIV 18 Your thunder was heard in the whirlwind, your lightning lit up the world; the earth trembled and quaked. CEBA 19 Your way went straight through the sea; your pathways went right through the mighty waters. But your footprints left no trace! NIV 19 Your path led through the sea, your way through the mighty waters, though your footprints were not seen. CEBA 20 You led your people like sheep under the care of Moses and Aaron. NIV 20 You led your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.
