KJV 1 I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea: NIV 1 I commend to you our sister Phoebe, a deacon of the church in Cenchreae. KJV 2 That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many, and of myself also. NIV 2 I ask you to receive her in the Lord in a way worthy of his people and to give her any help she may need from you, for she has been the benefactor of many people, including me. KJV 3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: NIV 3 Greet Priscilla and Aquila, my co-workers in Christ Jesus. KJV 4 Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles. NIV 4 They risked their lives for me. Not only I but all the churches of the Gentiles are grateful to them. KJV 5 Likewise greet the church that is in their house. Salute my wellbeloved Epaenetus, who is the firstfruits of Achaia unto Christ. NIV 5 Greet also the church that meets at their house. KJV 7 Salute Andronicus and Junia, my kinsmen, and my fellowprisoners, who are of note among the apostles, who also were in Christ before me. NIV 7 Greet Andronicus and Junia, my fellow Jews who have been in prison with me. They are outstanding among the apostles, and they were in Christ before I was. KJV 8 Greet Amplias my beloved in the Lord. NIV 8 Greet Ampliatus, my dear friend in the Lord. KJV 9 Salute Urbane, our helper in Christ, and Stachys my beloved. NIV 9 Greet Urbanus, our co-worker in Christ, and my dear friend Stachys. KJV 10 Salute Apelles approved in Christ. Salute them which are of Aristobulus' household. NIV 10 Greet Apelles, whose fidelity to Christ has stood the test. Greet those who belong to the household of Aristobulus. KJV 11 Salute Herodion my kinsman. Greet them that be of the household of Narcissus, which are in the Lord. NIV 11 Greet Herodion, my fellow Jew. Greet those in the household of Narcissus who are in the Lord. KJV 12 Salute Tryphena and Tryphosa, who labour in the Lord. Salute the beloved Persis, which laboured much in the Lord. NIV 12 Greet Tryphena and Tryphosa, those women who work hard in the Lord. Greet my dear friend Persis, another woman who has worked very hard in the Lord. KJV 13 Salute Rufus chosen in the Lord, and his mother and mine. NIV 13 Greet Rufus, chosen in the Lord, and his mother, who has been a mother to me, too. KJV 14 Salute Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermas, Patrobas, Hermes, and the brethren which are with them. NIV 14 Greet Asyncritus, Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas and the other brothers and sisters with them. KJV 15 Salute Philologus, and Julia, Nereus, and his sister, and Olympas, and all the saints which are with them. NIV 15 Greet Philologus, Julia, Nereus and his sister, and Olympas and all the Lord’s people who are with them. KJV 16 Salute one another with an holy kiss. The churches of Christ salute you. NIV 16 Greet one another with a holy kiss. All the churches of Christ send greetings. KJV 17 Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. NIV 17 I urge you, brothers and sisters, to watch out for those who cause divisions and put obstacles in your way that are contrary to the teaching you have learned. Keep away from them. KJV 18 For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple. NIV 18 For such people are not serving our Lord Christ, but their own appetites. By smooth talk and flattery they deceive the minds of naive people. KJV 19 For your obedience is come abroad unto all men. I am glad therefore on your behalf: but yet I would have you wise unto that which is good, and simple concerning evil. NIV 19 Everyone has heard about your obedience, so I rejoice because of you; but I want you to be wise about what is good, and innocent about what is evil. KJV 20 And the God of peace shall bruise Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen. NIV 20 The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you. KJV 21 Timotheus my workfellow, and Lucius, and Jason, and Sosipater, my kinsmen, salute you. NIV 21 Timothy, my co-worker, sends his greetings to you, as do Lucius, Jason and Sosipater, my fellow Jews. KJV 22 I Tertius, who wrote this epistle, salute you in the Lord. NIV 22 I, Tertius, who wrote down this letter, greet you in the Lord. KJV 23 Gaius mine host, and of the whole church, saluteth you. Erastus the chamberlain of the city saluteth you, and Quartus a brother. NIV 23 Gaius, whose hospitality I and the whole church here enjoy, sends you his greetings. Erastus, who is the city’s director of public works, and our brother Quartus send you their greetings. KJV 24 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen. KJV 25 Now to him that is of power to stablish you according to my gospel, and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery, which was kept secret since the world began, NIV 25 Now to him who is able to establish you in accordance with my gospel, the message I proclaim about Jesus Christ, in keeping with the revelation of the mystery hidden for long ages past, KJV 26 But now is made manifest, and by the scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, made known to all nations for the obedience of faith: NIV 26 but now revealed and made known through the prophetic writings by the command of the eternal God, so that all the Gentiles might come to the obedience that comes from faith— KJV 27 To God only wise, be glory through Jesus Christ for ever.
