Acts 5:27-32

NAS 27 When they had brought them, they stood them before the Council. The high priest questioned them, NIV 27 The apostles were brought in and made to appear before the Sanhedrin to be questioned by the high priest. NAS 28 saying, "We gave you strict orders not to continue teaching in this name, and yet, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and intend to bring this man's blood upon us." NIV 28 “We gave you strict orders not to teach in this name,” he said. “Yet you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching and are determined to make us guilty of this man’s blood.” NAS 29 But Peter and the apostles answered, "We must obey God rather than men. NIV 29 Peter and the other apostles replied: “We must obey God rather than human beings! NAS 30 "The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom you had put to death by hanging Him on a cross. NIV 30 The God of our ancestors raised Jesus from the dead—whom you killed by hanging him on a cross. NAS 31 "He is the one whom God exalted to His right hand as a Prince and a Savior, to grant repentance to Israel, and forgiveness of sins. NIV 31 God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might bring Israel to repentance and forgive their sins. NAS 32 "And we are witnesses of these things; and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey Him." NIV 32 We are witnesses of these things, and so is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”
