Deuteronomy 3:19-29

BBE 19 But your wives and your little ones and your cattle (for it is clear that you have much cattle) may go on living in the towns I have given you; NIV 19 However, your wives, your children and your livestock (I know you have much livestock) may stay in the towns I have given you, BBE 20 Till the Lord has given rest to your brothers as to you, and till they have taken for themselves the land which the Lord your God is giving them on the other side of Jordan: then you may go back, every man of you, to the heritage which I have given you. NIV 20 until the LORD gives rest to your fellow Israelites as he has to you, and they too have taken over the land that the LORD your God is giving them across the Jordan. After that, each of you may go back to the possession I have given you.” BBE 21 And I gave orders to Joshua at that time, saying, Your eyes have seen what the Lord your God has done to these two kings: so will the Lord do to all the kingdoms into which you come. NIV 21 At that time I commanded Joshua: “You have seen with your own eyes all that the LORD your God has done to these two kings. The LORD will do the same to all the kingdoms over there where you are going. BBE 22 Have no fear of them, for the Lord your God will be fighting for you. NIV 22 Do not be afraid of them; the LORD your God himself will fight for you.” BBE 23 And at that time I made request to the Lord, saying, NIV 23 At that time I pleaded with the LORD: BBE 24 O Lord God, you have now for the first time let your servant see your great power and the strength of your hand; for what god is there in heaven or on earth able to do such great works and such acts of power? NIV 24 “Sovereign LORD, you have begun to show to your servant your greatness and your strong hand. For what god is there in heaven or on earth who can do the deeds and mighty works you do? BBE 25 Let me go over, O Lord, and see the good land on the other side of Jordan, and that fair mountain country, even Lebanon. NIV 25 Let me go over and see the good land beyond the Jordan—that fine hill country and Lebanon.” BBE 26 But the Lord was angry with me because of you and would not give ear to my prayer; and the Lord said to me, Let it be enough, say no more about this thing. NIV 26 But because of you the LORD was angry with me and would not listen to me. “That is enough,” the LORD said. “Do not speak to me anymore about this matter. BBE 27 Go up to the top of Pisgah, and turning your eyes to the west and the north, to the south and the east, see the land with your eyes: for you are not to go over Jordan. NIV 27 Go up to the top of Pisgah and look west and north and south and east. Look at the land with your own eyes, since you are not going to cross this Jordan. BBE 28 But give my orders to Joshua, comforting him and making him strong; for he is to go over Jordan at the head of this people, and he will give them this land which you will see for their heritage. NIV 28 But commission Joshua, and encourage and strengthen him, for he will lead this people across and will cause them to inherit the land that you will see.” BBE 29 So we were waiting in the valley facing Beth-peor. NIV 29 So we stayed in the valley near Beth Peor.
