Ecclesiastes 1:4-8

NAS 4 A generation goes and a generation comes, But the earth remains forever. NIV 4 Generations come and generations go, but the earth remains forever. NAS 5 Also, the sun rises and the sun sets; And hastening to its place it rises there again. NIV 5 The sun rises and the sun sets, and hurries back to where it rises. NAS 6 Blowing toward the south, Then turning toward the north, The wind continues swirling along; And on its circular courses the wind returns. NIV 6 The wind blows to the south and turns to the north; round and round it goes, ever returning on its course. NAS 7 All the rivers flow into the sea, Yet the sea is not full. To the place where the rivers flow, There they flow again. NIV 7 All streams flow into the sea, yet the sea is never full. To the place the streams come from, there they return again. NAS 8 All things are wearisome; Man is not able to tell it. The eye is not satisfied with seeing, Nor is the ear filled with hearing. NIV 8 All things are wearisome, more than one can say. The eye never has enough of seeing, nor the ear its fill of hearing.
