Exodus 34:19-35

CEB 19 Every first offspring is mine. That includes all your male livestock, the oldest offspring of cows and sheep. NRS 19 All that first opens the womb is mine, all your male livestock, the firstborn of cow and sheep. CEB 20 But a donkey's oldest offspring you may ransom with a sheep. Or if you don't ransom it, you must break its neck. You should ransom all of your oldest sons. No one should appear before me empty-handed. NRS 20 The firstborn of a donkey you shall redeem with a lamb, or if you will not redeem it you shall break its neck. All the firstborn of your sons you shall redeem. No one shall appear before me empty-handed. CEB 21 You should do your work for six days, but on the seventh day you should rest. Even during plowing or harvesttime you should rest. NRS 21 Six days you shall work, but on the seventh day you shall rest; even in plowing time and in harvest time you shall rest. CEB 22 You should observe the Festival of Weeks, for the early produce of the wheat harvest, and the Gathering Festival at the end of the year. NRS 22 You shall observe the festival of weeks, the first fruits of wheat harvest, and the festival of ingathering at the turn of the year. CEB 23 All your males should appear three times a year before the LORD God, Israel's God. NRS 23 Three times in the year all your males shall appear before the Lord God, the God of Israel. CEB 24 I will drive out nations before you and extend your borders. No one will desire and try to take your land if you go up and appear before the LORD your God three times a year. NRS 24 For I will cast out nations before you, and enlarge your borders; no one shall covet your land when you go up to appear before the Lord your God three times in the year. CEB 25 Don't slaughter the blood of my sacrifice with anything leavened. The sacrifice of the Passover Festival shouldn't be left over until the morning. NRS 25 You shall not offer the blood of my sacrifice with leaven, and the sacrifice of the festival of the passover shall not be left until the morning. CEB 26 Bring the best of the early produce of your farmland to the LORD your God's temple. Don't boil a young goat in its mother's milk. NRS 26 The best of the first fruits of your ground you shall bring to the house of the Lord your God. You shall not boil a kid in its mother's milk. CEB 27 The LORD said to Moses: "Write down these words because by these words I hereby make a covenant with you and with Israel." NRS 27 The Lord said to Moses: Write these words; in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel. CEB 28 Moses was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights. He didn't eat any bread or drink any water. He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the ten words. NRS 28 He was there with the Lord forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread nor drank water. And he wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the ten commandments. CEB 29 Moses came down from Mount Sinai. As he came down from the mountain with the two covenant tablets in his hand, Moses didn't realize that the skin of his face shone brightly because he had been talking with God. NRS 29 Moses came down from Mount Sinai. As he came down from the mountain with the two tablets of the covenant in his hand, Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone because he had been talking with God. CEB 30 When Aaron and all the Israelites saw the skin of Moses' face shining brightly, they were afraid to come near him. NRS 30 When Aaron and all the Israelites saw Moses, the skin of his face was shining, and they were afraid to come near him. CEB 31 But Moses called them closer. So Aaron and all the leaders of the community came back to him, and Moses spoke with them. NRS 31 But Moses called to them; and Aaron and all the leaders of the congregation returned to him, and Moses spoke with them. CEB 32 After that, all the Israelites came near as well, and Moses commanded them everything that the LORD had spoken with him on Mount Sinai. NRS 32 Afterward all the Israelites came near, and he gave them in commandment all that the Lord had spoken with him on Mount Sinai. CEB 33 When Moses finished speaking with them, he put a veil over his face. NRS 33 When Moses had finished speaking with them, he put a veil on his face; CEB 34 Whenever Moses went into the LORD's presence to speak with him, Moses would take the veil off until he came out again. When Moses came out and told the Israelites what he had been commanded, NRS 34 but whenever Moses went in before the Lord to speak with him, he would take the veil off, until he came out; and when he came out, and told the Israelites what he had been commanded, CEB 35 the Israelites would see that the skin of Moses' face was shining brightly. So Moses would put the veil on his face again until the next time he went in to speak with the LORD. NRS 35 the Israelites would see the face of Moses, that the skin of his face was shining; and Moses would put the veil on his face again, until he went in to speak with him.
