1 Qǐchū shén chuàngzào tiāndì .

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 Dì shì kōngxū hùndùn . yuān miàn hēiàn . shén de líng yùnxíng zaì shuǐ miàn shàng .

Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
3 Shén shuō , yào yǒu guāng , jiù yǒu le guāng .

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.
4 Shén kàn guāng shì hǎo de , jiù bà guāng àn fēnkāi le .

God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.
5 Shén chēng guāng wéi zhòu , chèng àn wéi yè . yǒu wǎnshang , yǒu zǎochen , zhè shì tóu yī rì .

God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
6 Shén shuō , zhū shuǐ zhī jiān yào yǒu kōngqì , jiāng shuǐ fèn wéi shàng xià .

And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.”
7 Shén jiù zào chū kōngqì , jiàng kōngqì yǐxià de shuǐ , kōngqì yǐshàng de shuǐ fēnkāi le . shì jiù zhèyàng chéng le .

So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so.
8 Shén chèng kōngqì wéi tiān . yǒu wǎnshang , yǒu zǎochen , shì dì èr rì .

God called the vault “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning—the second day.
9 Shén shuō , tiān xià de shuǐ yào jù zaì yī chǔ , shǐ hàndì lòu chūlai . shì jiù zhèyàng chéng le .

And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so.
10 Shén chèng hàndì wéi dì , chèng shuǐ de jù chù wéi hǎi . shén kàn shì hǎo de .

God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.
11 Shén shuō , dì yào fāshēng qīngcǎo , hé jié zhǒngzǐ de caìshū , bìng jie guǒzi de shùmù , gè cóng Qíleì , guǒzi dōu bāo zhe hé . shì jiù zhèyàng chéng le .

Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so.
12 Yúshì dì fāshēng le qīngcǎo , hé jiē zhǒngzǐ de caìshū , gè cóng Qíleì , bìng jiē guǒzi de shùmù , gè cóng Qíleì , guǒzi dōu bāo zhe hé . shén kàn zhe shì hǎo de .

The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
13 Yǒu wǎnshang , yǒu zǎochen , shì dì sān rì .

And there was evening, and there was morning—the third day.
14 Shén shuō , tiān shǎng yào yǒu guāng tī , kĕyǐ fèn zhòuyè , zuò jìhào , déng jiéLìng , rìzi , niánsuì .

And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years,
15 Bīng yào fāguāng zaì tiānkōng , pǔzhào zaì dì shǎng . shì jiù zhèyàng chéng le .

and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so.
16 Yúshì shén zào le liǎng gè dà guāng , dà de guǎn zhòu , xiǎo de guǎn yè . yòu zào zhòng xīng .

God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.
17 Jiù bà zhèxie guāng bǎi liè zaì tiānkōng , pǔzhào zaì dì shàng .

God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth,
18 Guǎnlǐ zhòuyè , fēnbié míng àn . shén kàn zhe shì hào de .

to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.
19 Yǒu wǎnshang , yǒu zǎochen , shì dì sì rì .

And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.
20 Shén shuō , shuǐ yào duō duō zīshēng yǒu shēngmìng de wù , yào yǒu qiāo niǎo fēi zaì dì miàn yǐshàng , tiānkōng zhī zhòng .

And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.”
21 Shén jiù zào chū dàyú hé shuǐ zhòng suǒ zīshēng gèyàng yǒu shēngmìng de dòngwù , gè cóng Qíleì . yòu zào chū gèyàng fēiniǎo , gè cóng Qíleì . shén kàn zhe shì hào de .

So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
22 Shén jiù cì fú gĕi zhè yīqiè , shuō , zīshēng fán duō , chōngmǎn hǎi zhòng de shuǐ . qiǎo niǎo yĕ yào duō shēng zaì dì shàng .

God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.”
23 Yǒu wǎnshang , yǒu zǎochen , shì dì wǔ rì .

And there was evening, and there was morning—the fifth day.
24 Shén shuō , dì yào shēng chū huó wù lái , gè cóng Qíleì . shēngchù , kūnchóng , yĕshòu , gè cóng Qíleì . shì jiù zhèyàng chéng le .

And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so.
25 Yúshì shén zào chū yĕshòu , gè cóng Qíleì . shēngchù , gè cóng Qíleì . dì shàng yīqiè kūnchóng , gè cóng Qíleì . shén kàn zhe shì hǎo de .

God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.
26 Shén shuō , wǒmen yào zhào zhe wǒmen de xíngxiàng , àn zhe wǒmen de yàngshì zào rén , shǐ tāmen guǎnlǐ hǎi lǐ de yú , kòng zhòng de niǎo , dì shàng de shēngchù , hé quán dì , bīng dì shàng suǒ pá de yīqiè kūnchóng .

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”
27 Shén jiù zhào zhe zìjǐ de xíngxiàng zào rén , nǎi shì zhào zhe tāde xíngxiàng zào nán zào nǚ .

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.
28 Shén jiù cì fú gĕi tāmen , yòu duì tāmen shuō , yào shēng yǎng zhòngduō , biàn mǎn dì miàn , zhìlǐ zhè dì . yĕ yào guǎnlǐ hǎi lǐ de yú , kōng zhōng de niǎo , hé dì shàng gèyàng xíngdòng de huó wù .

God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”
29 Shén shuō , kàn nǎ , wǒ jiàng biàn dì shàng yīqiè jié zhǒngzǐ de caìshū hé yīqiè shù shàng suǒ jié yǒu hé de guǒzi , quán cìgĕi nǐmen zuò shíwù .

Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.
30 Zhìyú dì shàng de zǒushòu hé kōng zhōng de fēiniǎo , bìng gèyàng pá zaì dì shàng yǒu shēngmìng de wù , wǒ jiàng qīngcǎo cìgĕi tāmen zuò shíwù . shì jiù zhèyàng chéng le .

And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.
31 Shén kàn zhe yīqiè suǒ zào de dōu shén hǎo . yǒu wǎnshang , yǒu zǎochen , shì dì liù rì .

God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day.
