1 Zhè shì yǐhòu , Yēhéhuá zaì yìxiàng zhòng yǒu huà duì Yàbólán shuō , Yàbólán , nǐ búyào jùpà , wǒ shì nǐde dùnpái , bì dàdà dì shǎngcì nǐ .

After this, the word of the LORD came to Abram in a vision: “Do not be afraid, Abram. I am your shield,your very great reward. ”
2 Yàbólán shuō , zhǔ Yēhéhuá a , wǒ jì wú zǐ , nǐ hái cì wǒ shénme ne , bìngqiĕ yào chéngshòu wǒ jiāyè de shì Dàmǎsè rén Yǐlìyǐxiè .

But Abram said, “Sovereign LORD, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?”
3 Yàbólán yòu shuō , nǐ méiyǒu gĕi wǒ érzi . nà shēng zaì wǒ jia zhòng de rén jiù shì wǒde hòusì .

And Abram said, “You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir.”
4 Yēhéhuá yòu yǒu huà duì tā shuō , zhè rén bì bú chéngwéi nǐde hòusì . nǐ bĕn shēn suǒ shēng de cái chéngwéi nǐde hòusì .

Then the word of the LORD came to him: “This man will not be your heir, but a son who is your own flesh and blood will be your heir.”
5 Yúshì lǐng tā zǒu dào waìbiān , shuō , nǐ xiàng tiān guānkàn , shǔ suàn zhòng xīng , néng shǔ de guò lái ma . yòu duì tā shuō , nǐde hòuyì jiāngyào rúcǐ .

He took him outside and said, “Look up at the sky and count the stars—if indeed you can count them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”
6 Yàbólán xìn Yēhéhuá , Yēhéhuá jiù yǐ cǐ wèi tāde yì .

Abram believed the LORD, and he credited it to him as righteousness.
7 Yēhéhuá yòu duì tā shuō , wǒ shì Yēhéhuá , céng lǐng nǐ chū le Jiālèdǐ de Wúĕr , wèi yào jiàng zhè dì cì nǐ wéi yè .

He also said to him, “I am the LORD, who brought you out of Ur of the Chaldeans to give you this land to take possession of it.”
8 Yàbólán shuō , zhǔ Yēhéhuá a , wǒ zĕn néng zhīdào bì de zhè dì wéi yè ne .

But Abram said, “Sovereign LORD, how can I know that I will gain possession of it?”
9 Tā shuō , nǐ wèi wǒ qǔ yī zhī sān nián de mǔ niú , yī zhī sān nián de mǔ shānyáng , yī zhī sān nián de gōng miányáng , yī zhī bānjiū , yī zhī chú gē .

So the LORD said to him, “Bring me a heifer, a goat and a ram, each three years old, along with a dove and a young pigeon.”
10 Yàbólán jiù qǔ le zhèxie lái , mĕi yàng pī kāi , fēn chéng liǎng bàn , yī bàn duì zhe yī bàn dì bǎi liè , zhǐyǒu niǎo méiyǒu pī kāi .

Abram brought all these to him, cut them in two and arranged the halves opposite each other; the birds, however, he did not cut in half.
11 Yòu zhì niǎo xià lái , luō zaì nà sǐ chù de ròu shǎng , Yàbólán jiù bǎ tā xià fēi le .

Then birds of prey came down on the carcasses, but Abram drove them away.
12 Rìtou zhèng luō de shíhou , Yàbólán chén chén dì shuì le . hūrán yǒu jīngrén de dà hēiàn luō zaì tā shēnshang .

As the sun was setting, Abram fell into a deep sleep, and a thick and dreadful darkness came over him.
13 Yēhéhuá duì Yàbólán shuō , nǐ yào de què zhīdào , nǐde hòuyì bì jìjū biérén de dì , yòu fúshì nà dì de rén . nà dì de rén yào kǔdaì tāmen sì bǎi nián .

Then the LORD said to him, “Know for certain that for four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own and that they will be enslaved and mistreated there.
14 Bìngqiĕ tāmen suǒ yào fúshì de nà guó , wǒ yào chéngfá , hòulái tāmen bì daì zhe xǔduō cáiwù cóng nàli chūlai .

But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward they will come out with great possessions.
15 Dàn nǐ yào xiǎng dà shòushu , píngpíngānān dì guī dào nǐ lièzǔ nàli , beì rén máizàng .

You, however, will go to your ancestors in peace and be buried at a good old age.
16 Dào le dì sì daì , tāmen bì huí dào cǐ dì , yīnwei Yàmólìrén de zuìniè hái méiyǒu mǎnyíng .

In the fourth generation your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure.”
17 Rìluò tiān hēi , búliào yǒu mào yān de lú bìng shāo zhe de huǒbǎ cóng nàxiē ròu kuaì zhòng jīngguò .

When the sun had set and darkness had fallen, a smoking firepot with a blazing torch appeared and passed between the pieces.
18 Dàng nà rì , Yēhéhuá yǔ Yàbólán lì yuē , shuō , wǒ yǐ cìgĕi nǐde hòuyì , cóng Āijí hé zhídào Bólā dà hé zhī dì ,

On that day the LORD made a covenant with Abram and said, “To your descendants I give this land, from the Wadi of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates—
19 Jiù shì Jīnírén , Jīníxǐrén , Jiǎmónírén ,

the land of the Kenites, Kenizzites, Kadmonites,
20 Hèrén , Bǐlìxǐrén , Lìfáyīnrén ,

Hittites, Perizzites, Rephaites,
21 Yàmólìrén , Jiānán rén , Géjiāsārén , Yēbùsīrén zhī dì .

Amorites, Canaanites, Girgashites and Jebusites.”
