Genesis 24:47-57

NRS 47 Then I asked her, "Whose daughter are you?' She said, "The daughter of Bethuel, Nahor's son, whom Milcah bore to him.' So I put the ring on her nose, and the bracelets on her arms. NIV 47 “I asked her, ‘Whose daughter are you?’ “She said, ‘The daughter of Bethuel son of Nahor, whom Milkah bore to him.’ “Then I put the ring in her nose and the bracelets on her arms, NRS 48 Then I bowed my head and worshiped the Lord, and blessed the Lord, the God of my master Abraham, who had led me by the right way to obtain the daughter of my master's kinsman for his son. NIV 48 and I bowed down and worshiped the LORD. I praised the LORD, the God of my master Abraham, who had led me on the right road to get the granddaughter of my master’s brother for his son. NRS 49 Now then, if you will deal loyally and truly with my master, tell me; and if not, tell me, so that I may turn either to the right hand or to the left." NIV 49 Now if you will show kindness and faithfulness to my master, tell me; and if not, tell me, so I may know which way to turn.” NRS 50 Then Laban and Bethuel answered, "The thing comes from the Lord; we cannot speak to you anything bad or good. NIV 50 Laban and Bethuel answered, “This is from the LORD; we can say nothing to you one way or the other. NRS 51 Look, Rebekah is before you, take her and go, and let her be the wife of your master's son, as the Lord has spoken." NIV 51 Here is Rebekah; take her and go, and let her become the wife of your master’s son, as the LORD has directed.” NRS 52 When Abraham's servant heard their words, he bowed himself to the ground before the Lord. NRS 53 And the servant brought out jewelry of silver and of gold, and garments, and gave them to Rebekah; he also gave to her brother and to her mother costly ornaments. NIV 53 Then the servant brought out gold and silver jewelry and articles of clothing and gave them to Rebekah; he also gave costly gifts to her brother and to her mother. NRS 54 Then he and the men who were with him ate and drank, and they spent the night there. When they rose in the morning, he said, "Send me back to my master." NIV 54 Then he and the men who were with him ate and drank and spent the night there. When they got up the next morning, he said, “Send me on my way to my master.” NRS 55 Her brother and her mother said, "Let the girl remain with us a while, at least ten days; after that she may go." NIV 55 But her brother and her mother replied, “Let the young woman remain with us ten days or so; then you may go.” NRS 56 But he said to them, "Do not delay me, since the Lord has made my journey successful; let me go that I may go to my master." NIV 56 But he said to them, “Do not detain me, now that the LORD has granted success to my journey. Send me on my way so I may go to my master.” NRS 57 They said, "We will call the girl, and ask her." NIV 57 Then they said, “Let’s call the young woman and ask her about it.”
